About FareShare
FareShare is a unique charity fighting hunger and its underlying causes by redistributing surplus food to hundreds of local charities across the UK. By ensuring good food is not wasted, we turn an environmental problem into a solution, helping to feed thousands of vulnerable people every day.
Here’s a short filmto show you how FareShare helps transform lives.
About the role
Twice a year we work with one of our key food partners to hold a nationwide food collection. For this, we recruit an army of volunteers to donate their time in store, encouraging members of the public to donate store cupboard staples such as pasta, rice and tins. FareShare uses this food to supplement the fresh, surplus we receive from the food industry to ensure the charities we support receive a reliable service of varied food.
We are looking for someoneto assist with the organisation and smooth running ofour Food Collection as well as post-event analysis and review. You will support the Food Projects Coordinator in recruiting a nationwide team of enthusiastic volunteers by advertising for, engaging with and managing volunteers.
You will also help to coordinate this national event;liaising with our charity and food partners, responding to queries, working with our Regional Centres and Communications team and helping with database management and administration.
We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic candidate who isn’t afraid of hard work. We want someone who is confident to share new ideas and can bring fresh perspective to the event. The successful candidate must enjoy a challenge and will show real dedication to both their role and FareShare’s mission. In return we will work to ensure that your time at FareShare makes a positive difference to your career.
