PERMANENT APPOINTMENT OF MAINSCALE TEACHER

FULL TIME

The School

Hunter’s Bar is a very well established, diverse and lively part of the city. Most of the children live in, or districts adjacent to Hunter’s Bar but a significant number travel from well outside the area. The children very much reflect the rich variety of lifestyles and backgrounds from which they come.

A significant number of the parents are in professional employment with the City Council, universities, hospitals etc but it is inaccurate to think of Hunter’s Bar as a leafy suburb school; it has many inner city traits too.

Currently the school will has 351 children organised into 3 classes in each single-age year group.

The children possess a rich diversity of talents. There are many very able children but also a substantial number of pupils with special educational and emotional needs. Our aim is to sustain the high standards and improve wherever possible.

The post

The post is permanent and full time from September 2012.

We are looking for an excellent classroom teacher who can inspire children, set and achieve high expectations in terms of learning, behaviour and relationships – and has a sense of humour! Moreover, we believe that school is much more than the classroom experience and would hope that the person appointed would join in school life in its widest sense.

It is not currently possible to state which year group this is for and we are looking for a teacher who could teach any year group at KS2.

I do hope that you are still interested in the post! Candidates are welcome to visit the school please ring the school office to arrange a suitable time. Please note that school is closed from Thursday 31 May until Monday 11 June.

Completed application forms should be returned to school by:

Closing date: Thursday 21 June 2012

Short-listing: Friday 22 June 2012

References will be requested for shortlisted applicants prior to interview so due to the short timescale it would be helpful if when completing application forms applicants provide email addresses for your named referees. Thank you.
