Job Purpose / To provide an estate caretaking service on a range of
estates and provide support and assistance to
customers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
1.To ensure estates are maintained to a high standard and local standards are met through effective work planning, liaison, referral and monitoring of the delivery of the grounds maintenance service level agreement.
2.To act as the eyes and ears of the company, ensuring issues are identified, acted on or referred on to the relevant team or organisation, as appropriate.
3.To offer assistance, advice and support to customers, particularly the most vulnerable members of the community, on estate management issues and the services provided by the company, Bury Council and partner agencies.. To signpost customers to other teams and agencies, as appropriate.
4.To tackle environmental crime and grot spots on estates, including clearing and weeding communal areas, removing graffiti and fly tipping and to participate in initiatives aimed at preventing environmental crime.
5.To clear properties and communal landings in line with policies and procedures.
6. To undertake target hardening risk assessments, select appropriate products from stock and undertake necessary security work to properties.
7.To undertake work on behalf of the Home Improvement Agency, including pricing and scheduling work, purchasing goods, completing the necessary work as agreed and taking payments.
8.To carry out D.I.Y. and home improvements in customers’ homes as appropriate, including decorating, assembling flat pack furniture and fitting smoke detectors.
9.To provide a gardening service to identified customers, including offering advice and information on garden layout to meet customer needs. To clear and maintain gardens, as appropriate.
10.To support and assist with community clear up and events.
11.To work with and support other teams and agencies working in our neighbourhoods.
12. Assist with the training of colleagues and share knowledge, experience and best practice to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
