POST NEWSLETTER/CALENDAR FOR MARCH - APRIL 2017
Commander’s Comments:
Comrades and Sisters,
Let me start by thanking everyone for all their help with everything going on. With that being said, we have a lot coming up in the next couple of months and the rest of the year.
I would like to remind our members that it is election time for next year’s Post Officers. We will be accepting nominations for Post Officers during the second meeting in March and the first meeting of April, with the election taking place during our second meeting in April. Next year’s slate of Officers will assume their duties upon the installation of the North Carolina Department Commander at the Department Convention in June.
First thing we have coming up is a Spaghetti Dinner Benefit for Susette Solomito on Fri. March the 3rd and Sat. March the 4th (see the included flyer for times). Susette recently had surgery and will be out of work for some time. If you are available to help please stop by and lend a hand
The next thing on the agenda for March is St. Patrick’s Day, Friday March 17th. We will be serving Corn Beef and Cabbage at the Post for $7.00 a plate. Again please see the included flyer for more details.
Next we will be hosting the Regional World Tavern Poker Tournament on March 25th. We will be serving food from the kitchen again we will need help making this succeed. So if you are available please come out and lend a hand, even if is only an hour. Help is help.
On March 26th at 2 PM we will be holding a progressive turkey shoot, (please see the included flyer). Come out try your luck or lend a hand. Either way come and join the fun.
Moving on to April. We are having a Kids Easter Party on April 8th at 1 PM. Come out bring the kids, grand kids or let the kid in you out and have some fun. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt, egg coloring and snacks for the kids.
Buddy Poppy sales will also be taking place the last weekend in April and all volunteers are needed. Times and places will be posted at a later date. We are making a lot of money on these sales and there is so much more to be made if had more of a turn-out. The current dates set are April 28-29th.
As you can see we have several things going on and we need everyone to step-up and help where they can, it takes all of us helping where we can to succeed.
As always we still have the usual events each month so, please take a few moments to review our calendar of events and plan on coming out to support our Post. Post breakfast is on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at 9AM, and Steak Night on the last Friday of the month at 6 PM. We also have Texas Hold’m Poker on Fridays starting at 7 PM.
Thanks again for everyone’s continued support.
Yours in Comradeship,
Jon Schultheis, Commander
Auxiliary:
Dear Sisters and Brothers, here it is Spring already! Wow, do you know what that means? It means that Easter will be here in April and we will be hosting the Children's Easter Party on April 8th.
All volunteers will be appreciated. Sister's Melanie Rust, Susette Solomito, and Nancy White had such a success with the children's Christmas Party and I think they will be just as successful with this event and more so if we have more volunteers from the Auxiliary!
April is also the month to consider and vote for your new officers for the next year...2017-2018. This will be for all positions from President, Secretary, Treasurer and any other voted position. Please think long and hard on who you want as you as leaders to carry this Auxiliary forward.
I'm going to back paddle here for a minute and go back to March...Sister Susette Solomito will be out of work for a while following her recent surgery so we have decided to have a benefit Spaghetti Dinner on her behalf to help her out. This will be on Fri. March the 3rd and Sat. March the 4th. Anyone that can come and help out will be greatly appreciated! This will be dine in, take out or delivery with a minimum on deliveries. Please spread the word and let's raise lots of money for Susette!
Buddy Poppy sales will also be taking place the last weekend in April and all volunteers are needed. Times and places will be posted at a later date. We are making a lot of money on these sales and there is so much more to be made if had more of a turn-out. The current dates set are April 28-29th.
Please do not forget why we are here...we work for our Veterans, our Troops, and our Shut-ins. God bless you and God bless America!
At your service.
Annie Wtulich, Auxiliary President

Dear Members of the MOCA: Please read the entire Post newsletter and look for important dates and upcoming events.
For those of you that think you don’t have 1 or 2 hours a month so that you can come to a meeting Please we ask you to rethink your time. We are here for you but if you don’t get in touch with us we have no idea if you need our help and our prayers.
We need new members in the MOCA but first they must be a working member of the VFW Auxiliary for 6 (six) months before their name can be brought before the members of the MOCA for review.
Please pray for our Service Men and Women and for our Country.
God Bless and keep you safe.Health and Happiness to all, God Bless the USA
