Overall purpose of post:
In 2016 we established a Network Office as a ‘one stop shop’ for queries and questions, developed an online hub for networking and information sharing, developed a centralised comms plan, delivered a series of Big Day Out events for people to come together and share ideas and put new agreements in place for the network. This role will work in a team of six to build on this strong foundation. The role will have three main objectives:
- To develop resources and information available for the network to capacity build and quality assure the network
- To develop offers and opportunities for the network to enhance collaboration and local delivery
- To maintain and grow engagement of the network so that we have more people and organisations engaged with our vision and working towards it
This will be done by ‘packaging’ the above into a network ‘offer’ that can be rolled out and used to engage further partners. The MMMwill be responsible for taking forward this piece of work. Theywill need to source and develop resources, develop offers and opportunities and devise and embed a reward and recognition programme. They will need to work with internal teams and stakeholders as well as external providers to do this and will need to hold these relationships. They will need to work with the Creative Team to package and market this offer to the existing members as well as new organisations who we want to join the network.
Once the membership package for ‘Your Network’ has been developed the MMM will need to work with the Network Manager to develop and implement a strategy to promote the ‘Your Network’ membership service, enabling RMS to increase and sustain its membership.
The MMM will be responsible for supporting the Network Manager to administer the membership agreements and related processes. They will use information and data captured through the annual return to inform ongoing development of the offer. They will be required to work closely with the Knowledge officer to share information so that communications and work can be developed in a targeted way for the network.

Manager of stakeholders
The MMM will be responsible for engaging key stakeholder inside and outside of the organisation to identify and develop resources and offers. They will need to manage these relationships on an ongoing basis; being proactive in identifying opportunities for resource sharing and collaboration and selling the benefits. They will need to collect feedback from these stakeholders to inform ongoing development of both the processes and the content of the offer so that it delivers maximum benefit to RMS and the Big Plan. They will also need to manage relationships with existing network partners, to develop, promote and gather feedback on the offer and the impact it is having. They will need to identify (with the Network Manager) new stakeholders to join the network and develop communications and marketing plans to bring them on board.
KPI’s:
- Develops positive working relationships with people from other teams and external stakeholders to build a high quality offer. Maintains these relationships through effective stakeholder management so that the offer is always as up to date and high quality as it can be
- Develops relationships with the Mencap Network of organisations to understand their needs and challenges. Proactively looks to gain feedback to shape the ongoing offer development
- Conducts an audit of the sector (working with other teams to gather information on stakeholders out of the current network) to identify and develop relationships with new partner organisations to grow the network; increasing engagement and the potential impact that can be achieved
- Takes responsibility for understanding the wider functions and strategy of RMS, linking with key stakeholders to forward plan for any resources or opportunities that may become available
- Shares information about stakeholders and connects people proactively so that RMS and the network partners become more effective in the way that they work to deliver the Big Plan

Manager of Resources and Information
The MMMwill work with internal and external stakeholders to identify resources They will liaise with relevant stakeholders to adapt or develop resources for the Network and keep the up to date in line with any legal or compliance changes. The MMM will provide accurate information about these resources to interested stakeholders. They will need to actively promote and disseminate these resources via the Your Network Online platform and e-communications. The MMM will use their knowledge of the Network and the related resources to identify when resources could be proactively shared to support with collaborative working and support best practice. They will be proactive in seeking solutions and support from the resources available to them to be able to address and support groups to develop best practice. They will use information and feedback captured through the annual renewal of membership to review and develop the resources and offers available to the Network.

- Works with the Network team and Network Partners to conduct a gap analysis of what resources could benefit the Network and map opportunities to develop these.
- Source resources that meet the gaps identified and work with stakeholders to implement these within the Network.
- Implement and maintain a clear process of managing and reviewing current and future resources.
- Create a dissemination plan and implements this into the promotion of resources to the Network and outlines a clear process for support with relevant enquiries.
- Ensures issues and risks are managed
- Manages the annual membership renewal process

Manager of Offers and Opportunities
The MMMwill be responsible for supporting collaborative delivery across the network through a range of offers and opportunities. They will work with stakeholders from across the organisation and external stakeholders to identify work that might offer the opportunity for engagement and collaborative delivery. Offers and opportunities will include, but not be limited to, the chance to participate in working groups and focus groups, opportunity to engage and lead on campaigns activity at a local level, opportunities to partner with RMS on specific projects that increase friendships and relationships or deliver other areas of the Big Plan and opportunities to benefit from free/discounted services and activities offered in their local areas. The MMM will put clear processes and protocols in place for identifying, developing and disseminating these offers, working with the appropriate internal and external stakeholders. They will be responsible for maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders for sustaining current and future offers. They will work with these stakeholders to gather feedback about any offers and opportunities that are taken up by the network so that they can proactively promote successful offers and opportunities more widely.

- Is proactive at working across the wider programmes team and other internal teams to understand national pieces of work that might form an offer or opportunity for the network to engage with
- Develops processes and protocols for acquiring and managing offers and opportunities for the Network and leads on managing the relationships that enable these to exist.
- Identifying existing opportunities that could be adapted for the Network and new offers, and approaching the relevant stakeholders as necessary.
- Coordinates and supports the dissemination of offers and opportunities to the Network and facilitates the reviewing of these for future development.

Manager of reward and recognition
The MMM will be responsible for maintaining engagement and continuous improvement of the network through the development of a reward and recognition programme. They will lead on consultation with the network and subsequent development and implementation of a programme. Once established they will administer and maintain the programme. They will ensure that the valuable work, dedication and contribution of Network Partners to the Big Plan and the people they support in their local communities is recognised and championed both across the network and to internal RMS teams.
KPI’s:
- Work with the Network Partners to understand and develop reward and recognition categories that they would like to be acknowledged for
- Work with the internal comms and benefits team at Mencap to understand how recognition of network partners can link to internal RMS reward and recognition processes
- Develop the programme to include nomination/recommendation processes, format for reward and recognition (online, events etc), reward packages (and possible suppliers for rewards), systems that capture key data, achievements and milestones of our Network Partners and a communications plan
- Works closely with the Network Digital Communications and Events Manager in communicating and promoting the programme and celebrating the achievements of Network Partners out to the wider Network and RMSown internally teams.Raises the profile of the Network within RMS to encourage greater engagement through sharing of resources and promoting of offers and opportunities that lead to more collaborative activity
