Help Hutepi, “Queen of the Nile”, find her Book of the Dead. She will need this book to go on to the Next Life. This book will tell her the magic spells she needs to get through the Underworld before she journeys on to the Next Life. Her Brother has hidden the Book of the Dead so tomb robbers would not steal it. Now we must help her find it. Your team will choose a clue or task to complete and then once it has been completed you can go on to the next clue. Once all tasks and clues are completed you will find Hutepi’s Book of the Dead and she will reward you handsomely. (After each clue or task is complete the team will receive a black cat to show they have finished just like the black cat that is in the book, you can order these die cut- CAT #2 JUMBO K1201 J) this will prove important later.
1st Clue/Task-
Four tiny pictures on the pyramid wall
You can’t climb the stairs we don’t want you to fall
But there are steps to getting a library card
Bring me a form, this wont be hard
Have your team sign the form with their name
And then you can continue to play our game.
2nd Clue/Task-
You can hide many things in or on a boat
Finding the next item will keep your team afloat.
This boat has sunk it is under the sea
Find a CD for each team player and bring it to me.
3rd Clue/Task-
In our book the perfect place to hide was a jug.
To give you a jug would be heavy to lug.
So instead of a jug we can use a cup.
Build me a pyramid out of ten cups hurry now before time is up.
***Note: Separate ten disposable cups stationed at a wall with enough space for teams to build their pyramid. (Do accept the pyramid whether it is stacked or built on the floor vertical or horizontal- I think the kids who do it horizontal are quite crafty and smart)
4th Clue/Task:
This hieroglyph stands for a folded cloth.
Hurry up quick don’t be a sloth.
You will find several folded cloths, take one at a time.
Pass over and under while your team is in a line.
The last person will open the fabric.
The cloth will say SORRY TRY AGAIN or MOVE ON TO YOUR NEXT CLUE.
If you complete this task the next clue goes to you.
****NOTE: All the clues were made so that they can go in any order. So the teams can pick them in any order so as they are not all doing the same thing at the same time. The final clue should be marked differently so as to make sure it is the last clue received.
FINAL CLUE:
To save the Queen here’s your final clue.
