Program Guidelines & Priorities
Ascholarship in the amount of $500 will be awarded in memory of Glenn Weigang. Applicants should be graduating seniors with a record of leadership in 4-H as well as participation in extracurricular school activities and in non-school sponsored activities within the community. Applicants must also be current members of an Atascosa County 4-H Club and in good standing with that club.
Although significant factors in determining a scholarship recipient, eligibility is not based solely on academic excellence and/or financial need. The intent of the scholarship is to reward a worthy studentwho has demonstrated the qualities of leadership, character, and servicedeveloped through participation in 4-H.
Applications will be reviewed by the scholarship committee. The scholarship recipient will be announced at the Atascosa County 4-H Banquet in August of 2017. Funds will be awardedupon receipt of proof of enrollment in an accredited 2- or 4-year college/university or technical school. It is the recipient’s responsibility to submit proof of registrationto the scholarship committee.
