The Latest Buzz Aug/Sept 2016
WELCOME BeeACK!
The new school year is here! We hope everyone had a great summer break with special family time! The Busy Bee staff has been ‘Bzzzy’ and getting ready for a honey of a year! Your child(ren) are very important to us, and we strive to create a caring and safe After School Program. We always welcome your comments and/or concerns.
Registration began at Open House, August 14, 2016. The registration fee is $25.00 per family. We require several forms to be filled out: Child Registration and Contract Agreement Form, Child Release Form, and Parent Signature Form at the end of our Busy Beehive Handbook (new). The first two must be returned before your child may attend Busy Bee. The Parent Signature Form must be returned no later than September 30, 2016. It may be returned in the red Thursday Folder. Please be sure to thoroughly read our handbook. It is important to follow our policies to ensure a JOYful environment: Jesus teaches Responsibility Others are Respected You are Safe. Here are some reminders of what is expected:
- Students will have a book to read in their backpacks everyday for quiet/study time when no homework assigned.
- No electronic devices or cell phones may be brought to Busy Bee.
- Only changes of shoes will be allowed – no uniform changes.
- One type of snack will be offered per day though there will be occasions when a variety will be available to use up what we have on hand. If your child has food allergies, please make sure we have written documentation of which foods are not allowed. Please consider sending in your own snacks and/or let us know one or two things we can have on hand.
- Parking for pick-up is in the parking lot. PLEASE stay behind the orange cones when children are present.
- Busy Bee closes promptly at 5:30pm. There is a late fee charge of $1.00 per minute after 5:30pm. If habitually late, you may need to make alternative arrangements. ….our Busy Bee staff do have families to get home to also. We certainly do understand that unexpected circumstances may come up. Please put our contact information in your phone so you can give us a call or text if you are going to be late.
Busy Bee will be open on all school days during the school year except for the last day of school. If for any reason school needs to close early, there will NOT be Busy Bee. Because our daily numbers can be large, we do ask that Busy Bee only be used by parents who are working and not for running errands and/or playtime.
Our daily rates are:
Daily Rate: 1 child - $7.00 2 children - $10.00 3 or more Children - $12.00
Assistance is available for those in need. Please contact Mrs. Williams so other arrangements in fees/payment may be made. Again, we certainly understand situations and want to be able to help.
Billing will be once a month and come home in the red Thursday folders. We ask that you return payment in the same special Busy Bee envelope you receive the invoice in. A statement will be sent out twice a year-during the first part of January and at the end of the school year.
We are looking forward to the coming school year! We can’t wait to meet our new Busy Bees, see how much everyone has grown, and hear about summer break!
Our Hive is always open for comments, questions and/or concerns. Our contact information is below. May our school year BEE blessed!
Please send me an email or note to indicate when a child will be leaving with another parent (i.e. carpooling), even if the person that he/she is leaving with is on the release form. If it will be an ongoing situation, one note stating that is fine rather than sending a daily note.
