WESTERN HUDSON VALLEY PROFESSIONAL HORSEMAN’S ASSOCAITION
A meeting of the WHVPHA was held on August 14, 2017 at Denny’s of Middletown with Jody Moraski, President opening and presiding.

The meeting was called to order at 6:40 PM
First item on the agenda was the Treasurer’sReport.

Motion #1
A motion was made by Debbie Norris with a second by Nicole Peres to accept the Treasurers Report
Vote: Yes, by all present
Junior Committee- Danielle MOraski has volunteered to try and activate the Junior Committee
Jody Moraski at this point in the proceedings read a letter regarding the need to replace our points keeper. Ms.Moraski requested guidance in handling the resignation and asked for possible names of candidates to take over this job
Motion # 2
A motion was made by Mary Peres with a second by Debbie Norris that Debbie Norris should reach out to a name that was submitted as a possible replacement
Vote: Yes, by all present Debbie Norris has agreed to follow up with a possible candidate.
Horse Show Finals—October 1, 2017
Jody will finalize the prize list and order of “go”. As soon as it becomes available it willbeemailed to all members and trainers on file.
- We will stick to 10 participants per class
- A wait list will be developed and alternates should be encouraged to register.
- A full refund will be issued if they donotmake the cut.
- Entry deadline is SEPTEMBER 10.
- Entries must be postmarked by that date to be eligible to compete. If an eligible rider does not make the deadline they willmove to the bottomof the list and the alternate willbenotified. If there is still room the late applicant will be notified.
- Prizes for the finals and banquet were discussed. Chairs and duffle bags were recommended as desirable prizes for the banquet. Belts and lead ropes were recommended as prizes for the Horse Show Finals
Motion # 3
A motion was made by Gary Clark with a second by Karla Baccerlelli that Monica is to pursue prizes for both events as discussed at the meeting.
Vote: Yes by all present
All farms were reminded to encourage their clients to send in Ads for the Journal
Banquet- Mary Peres distributed to all host farms present the banquet ticket sale packet. All were reminded of the deadline date for the sale of tickets. If you need more tickets please contact Mary
ChecksIt was requested that all checks for horse show fees be sent directly to Denise Dahms for processing. Denise has requested that you label exactly what the check is for.
Example: membership, horse show fees etc. Your memo must read what the check is being issued for.
National PHA Horse Show –top 5 fromour Region willmove on.
The next meeting will be held on September 11, at Denny’s
