POSITION:Sr. Analyst – Financial Risk & Compliance

REPORTS TO: Director of Risk & Compliance

Job Summary (Purpose):

Coordinate and assist in the oversight and execution of our global SOX internal controls program. Involvement in the SOX program includes both responsibility for testing Corporate holding company controls as well as working closely with the Director – Risk & Compliance in the oversight of global SOX policies and working practices. In addition, this candidate will work with the SEC reporting group to assist with preparation of UGI and subsidiaries SEC filings including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 11-K’s, 8-Ks and other financial statement filings, as required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Under the direction, supervision and guidance of the Director-Risk & Compliance, develop and prepare the annual SOX compliance plan.
  • Responsible for the appropriate design, implementation and oversight of SOX controls at Corporate and business unit SOX programs.
  • Provide insights to business units to drive efficiencies and effectiveness in execution under Corporate internal control strategy.
  • Work closely on controls revitalization projects to reduce the compliance burden while improving the effectiveness of controls.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors to support their SOX audit efforts.
  • Coordinate and prepare footnotes for financial statements and other disclosures in the annual and quarterly financial statements (public and non-public) and other periodic SEC reports.
  • Prepare schedules and analyses of significant components of the financial statements and other analyses requested by senior management.
  • Prepare information for Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Research accounting pronouncements and SEC rules and regulations and determine impact on the Company and its subsidiaries.
  • Maintain supporting documents for financial statements and interact with internal and external auditors to support their audit efforts.
  • Assist in preparation of special purpose financial statements included in registration statements, securities certificates and others.
  • Assist in special projects initiated by the chief risk office.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in public company financial reporting and/or public accounting
  • CPA Certificate Preferred
  • Knowledge GAAP accounting rules, SOX rules, COSO framework and applicable PCAOB developments
  • Knowledge of SEC reporting rules and regulations
  • Proficient at intermediate/advanced level in Excel and working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a collaborative environment
