Monday 23rd November 2015
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thirty two days left until Christmas! So that means it’s time to get decorating…so we would like to ask all the children if they would like to make a Christmas decoration at home to go onto our Christmas tree. There will be a small prize for the best decoration in EYFS/KS1 and in KS2. Bring your decorations in for Tuesday 1st December to decorate the tree.

Well done to all the children who received an Achievement Certificate this week:

Thank you to everyone who entered the colouring competition. The children raised £7.25 on top of the money we raised from the wrist bands. Well done to the School Council who voted for the winning entries last week.
In KS2 the winner was Charlie Waldman- Brown for his innovative use of plasticine for the spots on Pudsey. The runners up were Monty Pitts and Olivia Allison.
In KS1, the winner was Freddie Brown who brought his picture to life with pipe cleaners and the runner up were Ella Grundy and Lily Rangecroft.
Year 4 animated movies
Make sure you log on to the website to see the year 4 animated videos that Mrs Upstone has been working on with the children. The children drew their own backdrops using vector graphics and used JPEG images as a background for create pivot stick figure animation. You can find them under classes/computing.
Parking on yellow zig zags
Many parents have expressed their concerns about other parents parking on the yellow zig zag lines. The lines have been painted there for the safety of our children. Please where possible park further down past the school or at the pub. Thank you for your support.
Healthy schools reminder
In order to maintain our Healthy School Status it is important that we promote a healthy lifestyle. We aim to work together with parents and carers to provide opportunities for enhancing health and wellbeing to improve long term health. To achieve this we would ask that if you provide a mid- morning snack for your child, it is a piece of fruit or vegetable (in a clearly labelled pot). Please avoid ‘fruit winders’ and other similar processed products. Children in Early Years and KS1 are provided with a fruit or vegetable snack by the Government.
There is also a growing tradition of children bringing in sweets for their classmates to celebrate their birthday. Whilst this is a nice thing to do, it doesn’t comply with Healthy School Status. Therefore, class teachers will no longer be able to distribute sweets at the end of the day.
Thank you for your support.
Outstanding Achievement Cups
If your child received one of these in the summer term please bring them back to the school office by Friday 4th December. Thank you.
