Special Needs

Individuals with special dietary needs may make arrangements by submitting a written request to MRPA no later than March 27, 2015. MRPA is committed to complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If you need auxiliary aids or services to participate in the conference, please indicate your needs on the registration form, or contact Beahta Davis, Conference Co-Chair, at 443-564-9624, at least two weeks prior to the start of the confer ence.TTY users call via Maryland Relay 711. Student Mentor

New Program!

Agree to be a 1-minute mentor! You will answer three questions from a student and introduce the student to another professional. That’s it!

Child Care

Arrangements for sitters can be made through Dial-a-Nanny at 410–641–2977, or Carmellas Kids located in Berlin, MD at 410–629–1630. As a courtesy to fellow professionals, children will not be permitted to attend educational sessions or socials.

If you wish to purchase additional tickets for the meal functions, please do on-site at the registration area.

Wednesday daily registration includes all education sessions on Wednesday, Wednesday continental breakfast in the Exhibit Hall and Wednesday luncheon. Thursday daily registration includes all education sessions on Thursday and General Membership Meeting Brunch. Tickets for the Thursday Awards Banquet may be purchased separately.

What You Should Bring

Advance Registration

Registration must be received (not post marked) by Friday, March 27, 2015 to be eligible for the Early Bird Discount. Your MRPA membership must be current if you are registering at member rates. All registrations must include payment or agency purchase order. Please register on-site after Friday, April 3, 2015. Admission to the exhibit hall and sessions will be by badge only. Agencies that sold theme park tickets are eligible to use MRPA bucks toward registration.

Affiliate Organizations

Members in good standing of other leisure service-related organizations may register at MRPA member rates. Individuals must include their organization name and membership number on the registration form. Examples include MASC, ASLA, other state associations, etc. NRPA membership is not applicable.

Conference Headquarters Atrium

This area will serve as the conference information center. All session chairpersons and speakers should check in here. Anyone with questions or registering for additional events should visit this area as well.

Exhibit Hall

Plan to spend some time perusing the newest equipment, supplies, and services available to the recreation and parks industry. Tuesday, Grand Opening, 8:30 PM–10:30 PM Wednesday, 10:15 AM –11:30 AM and 12:30 PM–2:00 PM

to a 50% penalty. Unused portions of registrations are non-refundable and nontransferable. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after the conference begins (April 13, 2015).

Special Invitation to Professional First Timers

First-time attendees are invited to attend the 2015 Conference at a special rate of $85.

Individuals must be employed in a career position in the recreation and park profession in Maryland, and be an active professional member of MRPA to take advantage of this promotion. nce again MRPA is proud to present our Silent auction! Bidding begins on the Silent Auction Parade of Baskets on Wednesday during the Exhibitors’ Luncheon (baskets will be on display in the atrium) and concludes at 11:00 PM at the social. City and county agencies, commercial members, MRPA board and branches and individuals have created wonderful baskets over the years filled with goodies! Baskets should be delivered at Conference Headquarters between 10:00 AM and 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 15. Silent Auction Rules Are As Follows: Each item has a minimum opening bid; successive bids must be made in increments of $5 minimums. You must print your name and mobile phone with each bid. All items must be paid for and picked up Wednesday evening at the social. Payments can be made by cash, check or credit card.
