Your job is to select a culture and topic that interests you the most. Begin by researching your topic using as many sources as possible (Internet, Encyclopedia, Books, magazines, etc.). Next, create a visual display of your topic with a detailed paragraph about your project attached. Finally, projects and paragraph will be displayed for a whole class “Gallery Walk” showcase and scored.

The following must be attached to your project in order to receive full credit:

1.  A completed pathfinder sheet using a minimum of two different types of resources about your project, e.g. encyclopedia and website, or a magazine article and book.

2.  A printout of the first page of all internet sources you cited on your pathfinder sheet. Note: This must be specifically about the item you are researching.

3.  Using your research, answer the following questions in paragraph form (typed or in ink):

1)  Where would your topic be found?

2)  What skill would be needed to create your topic?

3)  Which group of society would have participated?

4)  How did/does your topic influence the culture then and now?

5)  What did you find most interesting about your topic?

I-Search Project ideas

Projects can be in the form of a drawing, sculpture, model, poster board, brochure, PowerPoint, etc. (Power Points must be printed out). Information paragraph and I-Search Contract/Bibliography handout must be displayed on or next to your project. Have fun and be creative!
