In an effort to assist students in learning, comprehension, and understanding of math, we have structured the 3rd period section of a little differently. While there will be some formal instruction, the focus of this class will be individualized student instruction with students progressing at a more individual pace. As part of their daily routine students will utilize the ALEKS program daily during class time. If you have any questions, please contact your student’s counselor.
TUTORING
Tutoring is available on a daily basis after school Monday-Friday until 3:30. The schedule is as follows:

Your grade will be based upon a percentage of total points as follows:

CITIZENSHIP
The citizenship grade you receive will reflect your attitude and your willingness to adhere to the classroom rules:
- Safe
- On time (3-4 tardies = N, 5+ tardies = U)
- Act respectfully
- Responsible (come prepared each day)
- Math Journal
- Notebook or 3-ring binder (paper)
- Pencil
- Scientific or Graphing calculator
- Protractor and compass
- In order to receive credit for your assignments, all work must be shown with an answer.
- Absent Work – Students are expected to make-up the work for all absences by the Monday following the return from an absence. It is the responsibility of the student to get all make-up work.If absent when a test is given, they will be expected to take the test on the day of their return or make other arrangements.
- Late Work Policy – An assignment is considered late if it is turned in after it is due. Late work will be deducted 50% at most.

- Cheating – Cheating is a serious infraction which will result in a zero on the assignment/test, an automatic drop in citizenship, and parent notification.
- As a math department, we follow all school policies.
- All classes will participate in the online program ALEKS and it will be part of their grade.

7th and 8th graders need to select Common Core then click the “go” button.
7th graders are using the Big Ideas red Accelerated version.
8th graders are using the Big Ideas blue version.
9th graders need to select Integrated Mathematics then click the “go” button.
