Ron Black is currently employed by AmerenUE as Superintendent of Supply Chain Operations and oversees Ameren’s energy delivery material delivery and warehousing operations for the state of Missouri. Ron has been with Ameren, formerly Union Electric, his entire professional career, serving in various engineering and supervisory capacities at Ameren until his most recent assignment as Superintendent in August 2002. Ron graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 1987 with a BSEE, and completed his MBA in 1993 at SIU – Carbondale. Ron is also a registered professional engineer in the state of Missouri.

St. Louis based Ameren provides energy services to 1.3 Million customers in Missouri. AmerenUE presently has one of its main reporting centers on 70+ acres in MarylandHeights at the northeast corner of I-270 and Dorsett Rd. This facility serves as the central warehousing and delivery operation for AmerenUE’s Missouri territory, in addition to housing operations for several other departments.

Ron is active with several organizations, including Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce, the Electrical Board of Missouri and Illinois (EBMI) and Missouri Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE) serving in various capacities. Ron has also been a member of IEEE for 24 years.

Ron and his wife Melody reside St. Charles with her son Steven and their 1 year-old baby Kristin.

Dennis Henson

Transformer Shop Supervisor

Dennis Henson comes to Dorsett Distribution and Warehousing-Transformer Repair with nearly 23 years of Electric Utility experience. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He spent almost 10 years at AmerenUE’s largest coal fired power plants located in Labadie, MO where he managed a multitude of projects ranging from maintenance of the Extra High Voltage switchyard equipment to the design and maintenance of the Tangential-Fired Boiler distributed controls. In 1993 he transferred to the Transmission and Distribution side of the business. For the next 14 years he provided engineering expertise to the Heavy Underground, Berkeley, Wentzville and St. Charles Distribution Division offices. His experience in the electric distribution offices covers a wide range of duties including Gas Distribution, Engineering Design, Drafting, Construction Supervision and Project Management. While Supervising the Transformer Repair group he has managed to increase the line production from approximately 2,300 units valued at $4.1 Million per year to a projected 3,000 units valued at $6.3 Million per year, roughly a 30% increase in production.
