Course Description: The objectives of all courses are to address the California Content Standards as required by our standards based learning. Every topic will directly relate to a specific standard that will be discussed as we progress through the semester.

Required Materials: Every student is required to always maintain:

1.  One 150 pages notebook for notes and homework.

2.  One Two pocket folder to keep All test reviews and tests.

3.  Some filler College-ruled lined paper & Graph paper.

4.  A Scientific Calculator.

5.  A pencil pouch containing: Two lead pencils, an eraser, a red pen, a yellow highlighter & a small ruler.

Homework
Ø  Is Assigned, Checked & Corrected Daily. Homework is worth 2 points (a total of 10-14 points equivalent to three test questions) that will be added directly to your test. Due to many incidents of “copying” from another student, late homework is not accepted.
Ø  Has to be done neatly and exactly as it has been explained in Homework Format.
Ø  Is Always done in Pencil & Corrected with Red pen.
Ø  Your homework should always have a Complete & Legible “Heading” as shown below.

ü  Un-cleared absences or truancies will result in the loss of points of Cooperation. (You have 3 days to clear your absence).
ü  Remember: In case of absence, YOU are responsible to follow-up & make-up for ALL missing work.
Cooperation Marks are based on the following criteria:
·  Attendance:
-  Be on time and ready to start as soon as the bell rings. You are considered tardy if you are not in your seat with all materials ready when the bell rings.
·  Behavior:
Treat everyone with respect, Stay on task, do your best & Do Not Speak while teacher is speaking.
·  School Policies: You are expected to follow ALL school rules:
-  No cell phones or headphones are allowed in class.
-  No caps, hoods or beanies are to be worn inside the classroom.

Consequences

You are expected to follow All School & Class Rules Policies (Attendance, Behavior...). Failure to Comply Will Result in Lunch Detention.

Calls Home: There will be phone calls made to your home in case of Absence, Incomplete or Missing homework, Low test grade and inconsiderate behavior.

Extra Help: I am Always available in the morning & during Lunch. There will also be “After School

Grading Policy & Schedule of Tests

Each Test ______100 points Final Grade: 90 – 100% A

Tests 100 × 12 = 1200 points 80 – 89% B

Final 200 points 70 – 79% C Total = 1400 points 58 – 69% D Below 58% F

As you see, grading is based on 12 tests, and a math department final exam. The tests will be worth 100 points each and the final exam 200 points. Each Test contains 12-20 questions that are selected directly from the problems assigned for homework and daily warm up questions.

Make-up tests will not be administered. Below, you can see all the test dates, so please make sure you are not absent on the day of the test day. If a student validly (not truant) misses a test, the subsequent test score will be used as a basis to determine equivalent replacement scores.
