The Anthropology 151T Research System

Getting an account

1) Go to http://cep.sona-systems.com/

2a) In the bottom left hand corner there is a link “New Participant? Request an account here,” click on that.

2b) If it says there is already an account for the email you’ve typed in, go back to the home page and click on “Lost Your Password? Click Here to Retrieve It” and your log-in info will be sent to your email inbox.

3) Fill in the info boxes. Make sure “ANTH 151T” is selected from the drop box at the bottom.

4) You are now free to sign up for studies and keep track of the credits you’ve been awarded.

Once in the system you must complete a brief background questionnaire to be able to sign up for studies. From there you’ll be able to do a few different things:

Study Sign-Up

Just like it sounds. You’ll get a description of what studies are available to you and what restrictions they may have (example: color-blindness). You can search by date using the drop boxes near the top. To sign up for an available study, select the date you want and from the list of open timeslots, click to choose the time you want.

My Studies and Credits

From here you can view what you’ve done and what you’ve signed up for. The box at the top will tell you what you need and what you’ve completed. Below that is a list of the studies you’ve signed up for. If you know you won’t be able to make a study you’ve committed to, you can cancel an appointment. Please know that you must do this within 24 hours of your scheduled time slot otherwise you will be assessed a penalty. For every no-show that is not cancelled in the appropriate window of time, 1 credit-hour will be deducted from your total. So if you oversleep and you miss 1 appointment, you will need to do 3 to get full credit. You are able to make an appeal to the researcher if you think there was a good reason why you missed and, therefore, why you should not be assessed a penalty; their email can be found with the description of the study.

This is where you would type in your preferred email account or change your password to something that is easy for you to remember.

For Those in Intro Psychology Courses

Just as Anthropology 151T will not accept term papers for other classes, we will not accept research credits from other classes. Keep in mind that the URL for Anthropology 151T sign-ups begins with “cep.” If you are getting a little lost as to what you’ve completed and what is left to be done for Anthropology 151T, check out your status in “My Studies and Credits.”
