There will be short presentations from leading experts such as John Crabtree (Oxford) who has written widely on the politics of Peru and Andean countries, as well as remarks and observations from Members of a BGIPU delegation visiting Peru in September. BGIPU will send 2 Members to attend the IPU’s International Conference on Migration, with the theme of ‘Promoting Better Regional Cooperation toward Smart and Humane Migration Across the Mediterranean’, taking place in Valetta from 16th -17th November (travel dates 15th – 18th November). YOUNG PARLIAMENTARIANS CONFERENCE| OTTAWA | 17 AND 18 NOVEMBER 2017
The conference welcomes all Members aged 44 or under who are interested in attending this global gathering of young parliamentarians. This year’s theme is ‘A place for everyone: Young Parliamentarians as drivers of inclusion’ and discussions will examine more deeply the role that young parliamentarians can play as drivers of political, social and economic inclusion. ELECTIONS FOR THE BRITISH GROUP INTER-PARLIAMENTARY UNION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE 2017-2018
In advance of the 2017 Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 6 December, Members wishing to be nominated for the position of Chair (a Government post), one of the three Vice-Chairs (Government, Opposition and House of Lords), Treasurer (Opposition) or ordinary Member of the BGIPU Executive Committee are requested to contact Rhiannon Edwards on x 7283 or to obtain a nomination form. The deadline for nominations will be noon on 22 November.
BGIPU ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING | WEDNESDAY 6 DECEMBER| 1600 - 1700 | IPU ROOM
