Ⅰ Definition of extra baggage
Baggage that exceeds the free checked baggage allowance is called extra baggage. Extra luggage fees will be collected when any baggage exceeds the free checked baggage allowance. (For first class passenger, adult or child, each passenger is allowed to check baggage in weight of 40kg, for business class, 30kg, and for economy class, 20kg. Ⅱ Extra baggage fee rate
Theoverweight-baggagechargeis1.5%perkgoftheticketfacevalueofthatdayinEconomyClass, computed in of Renminbi Fen. Total charge amount compute in Renminbi Yuan, and mantissa should be rounded.
Ⅲ How to calculate
Extra baggage fees= (checked baggage weight-free checked baggage allowance) ×fee rate. Total charge amount computed in of Renminbi Yuan, and mantissa should be rounded. Passengers can pay it via cash, check and credit card.
ⅣScope of application for extra baggage
- The part that exceeds the free checked baggage allowance and unaccompanied baggage.
- Guns and bullets for sports use.
- Small animals and its container and food.
- Appliance (such as television, audio, desktop computer, etc.)
- Precise instruments (such as spectroscope, bio microscope, projector, etc.)
- Seat-occupying luggage
Seat-occupying luggage is no longer calculated as free luggage allowance. The cost of freight from the location of origin to the destination shall be the higher result of the following two calculations: ①The cost of freight according to actual weight when calculating excess luggage costs; ②75% of a one-way adult fare according to the passenger’s seat class.
- Diplomatic letter
Diplomatic letter should be carried by diplomatic courier himself. According to his require, diplomatic letter can also be treated as checked baggage, which must inform FOC Customer Service in advance. The carrier only takes the responsibility as checked baggage. Baggage and diplomatic letter that diplomatic courier take can be regarded in weight or in amount. The part that exceeds the free checked baggage allowance should be treated as extra baggage.
- Bicycles
(1) Bicycles should be accepted as cargo transport. Bicycles are accepted as baggage transport only and should be pre-approved by Capital Airlines. Preparation to be done for transporting bicycles:
①Bicycle pedals need to be removed (or turned inside).
②Handlebars must be turned aside.
③The bike must be put into a sturdy box designed especially for transportation or inside a bag.
④For security reasons, please deflate the tires.
(2) This rule applies to all domestic airlines and international airlines.
(3) Capital Airlines will only accept non-engine powered travel, race, or tandem bicycles as checked luggage for boarding. Capital Airlines will only accept bicycles with a weight of less than 70 lbs (inclusive) or 32 kg (inclusive) as luggage. If being transported as checked baggage, you must first obtain the approval of Capital Airlines (this is determined by aircraft size and load conditions). Bicycles of more than 70 pounds or 32 kilograms must be transported as cargo.
(4) Each passenger is allowed to carry one non-engine powered bicycle or less than two non-engine powered bicycles in one container.
(5)The passenger’s checked baggage and bicycle will be weighed together. For the part exceeding the free baggage allowance, fees will be charged as rules of extra baggage.
ⅤExcess-value declaration
(1) When the price of checked baggage per kilogram is more than 100RMB, passenger can apply for excess valuation.
(2) The excess-value declaration of the checked baggage shall not exceed the actual value of the luggage itself.
(3) Capital Airlines cannot accept liability for any declared value that is higher than 8000RMB per passenger.
(4) Capital Airlines retains the right to refuse your checked baggage if any discrepancy is evident, or passenger refuse baggage-check.
(5) Only the whole piece of checked luggage can declare the value. Single item in the luggage can’t.
(6) Capital Airlines cannot accept an excess-value declaration of carry-on baggage.
Ⅵ Extra charge for excess-value declaration
1. Extra charge for excess-value declaration will be collected 5‰ of the declaration valuation per kilogram beyond 100RMB.
2. Extra charge for excess-value declarationcompute inRenminbi Yuan, and mantissa should be rounded.
The Chinese version of fare rules shall prevail if there is any conflict.
