- Have you reviewed and updated your bylaws and P&Ps in the last 3 years? Does the Component P & P chairperson have a copy of the Bylaws and P & Ps?
/ I have reviewed bylaws. It hasn’t been undated since Sept. 2004. I couldn’t find any policies or procedures specific to district3. Since we haven’t updated the chair should have bylaws
- Do you have an orientation for new officer?
/ We have notebooks with job descriptions that get passed to new office
- Have you set Goals for the next 6 months? If so, please share:
/ Yes,to have workshop March16 in GJ and Workshop in Cortez in June. Get more members. See from 1st attachment
- How do you communicate with new members? How do you recognize new members?
/ We communicate with e-mail and have had 3 teleconference meetings. Education has had frequent breakfast meetings past month. We don’t know who new members are. We have been trying to get current membership list with no success.
- Do you contact non-renewing members?
/ No, because we aren’t sure who our members are and who isn’t renewing. When members renew different times throughout the year it makes it difficult.
- How do you recognize individual member achievement/ accomplishments or activities? Please list any that you are aware of.
/ We don’t have a good system in place. I plan on writing about Cathy Scott in RMPANA newsletter to put her in spotlight. Cathy is a certification champion and volunteers at a homeless shelter doing health assessments and making medical referrals.
- What education/conference have you provided for your district? What do you have planned for the future?
Do you provide contact hours at your regular meetings? / Last April we provided a workshop in GJ and the traveling Road Show provided district 3 and district 6 with education at Eagle. We have workshop planned March 16 and in June in Cortez. We provide contact hours at these workshops.
- Have you utilized the website to advertise and promote your District?
Facebook? / Once we get our flyer approved by St. Mary’s Hospital we will be sending the e-flyer to RMPANA website. We did send a picture to Facebook.
- Has your District participated in a community program or educational project this year? (e.g. blood drives, health fairs, BP screenings, Boy/Girl Scouts, Relay for Life, etc.)? Please provide pictures, thanks you or other confirmation of participation.
/ The GJ group of district 3 donated food and supplies to Roice Hurst Humane Society. We sent a picture to RMPANA facebook. Cortez group has participated in community programs too.
- Are you aware of articles written/published, poster displayed by any RMPANA member?
Did your District participate in any research activities/projects this year? Describe briefly. / No. No
- Does your District membership have any Certification Champions? If so, who are they?
/ Yes, Cathy Scott
- How did your District members participate in/promote PeriAnesthesia Nurse Awareness Week? Describe briefly and provide pictures if possible.
Have you made any plans for next year? / I forwarded Governor’s Proclamation to other facilities. At. St.Mary’s Hospital we put up poster and put up a Tri-fold in the waiting room about the role of perianesthesia nurses. Each day we had a special snack food and one day had a potluck lunch to share. One of our anesthesiologists was filmed by our AV department Dec. 14th doing and Emergency Intubation and when edited it will be put on hospital intranet for review and orientation. It was to be ready for viewing this week but was not.
- Has your District interacted/ collaborated/supported a school of nursing and/or nursing students? For example-nursing fairs, donated journals/textbooks, offered reduced fees for attending educational offering?
/ We are going to invite nursing students from CMU to our March 16th workshop. They can come fro free.

- What can RMPANA Component do to help your District be more successful?
/ Get us membership list. We are still a struggling district. We know nothing about how to do research or where to begin. We need your support to survive.
