Dinosaur Land
Once upon a time, millions of years ago, there lived a friendly dinosaur. Her name was Dorothy. She had a very long neck, but it was very heavy. It was too heavy to lift up to the tall trees so she ate plants because they were easier to reach.
One day, Dorothy was munching on a yummy green plant when she heard a terrible roar. Timothy was hungry again, she thought. He was rather fierce when he was hungry so Dorothy went and hid in the trees.
On her way, Dorothy met her friend Brian. He too had a very long neck. Unlike Dorothy, Brian could stretch up high to the tall trees and swing his long neck from side to side.
Just then, Stella came charging past. She was in a hurry! Perhaps she was running away from Timothy.

The Dinosaur Den
Step inside the Dinosaur Den,
And as if by magic, become one of them.
The sleepy Stegosaurus snoring on the bus
Annoys the Allosaurus who starts to make a fuss.
The helpful Hadrosaurus, so gentle and so kind
Wakes the Stegosaurus and says, ‘Sorry do you mind?’
The bossy Brontosaurus tells them to be quiet
‘You’re far too noisy on the bus and we don’t want a riot.’
The dippy Diplodocus says, ‘I’ve missed my stop, I’m late.’
The driver says, ‘I’m sorry, but you’ll just have to wait.’
‘Sorry,’ says the driver, ‘it’s more than my job’s worth,
To be seen with all you dinosaurs on prehistoric earth.’

Dinosaurs to Ten
No scary dinosaurs lazing in the sun,
Along came a T-rex and then there was one.
One scary dinosaur with nothing much to do,
Along came another one and then there were two.
Two scary dinosaurs dancing round a tree,
Along came another one and then there were three.
Three scary dinosaurs rolling on the floor,
Along came another one and then there were four.
Four scary dinosaurs standing side by side,
Along came another one and then there were five.
Five scary dinosaurs eating Weetabix™,
Along came another one and then there were six.
Six scary dinosaurs on a trip to Devon,
Along came another one and then there were seven.
Seven scary dinosaurs trotting at a gate,
Along came another one and then there were eight.
Eight scary dinosaurs dancing in a line,
Along came another one and then there were nine.
Nine scary dinosaurs build a cosy den,
Along came another one and then there were ten.
Ten scary dinosaurs having lots of fun,
All of them went to bed and then there were none.

Stealing Eggs from the Dinosaur Nest
1. Set up five hoops in a large space (like the dots on a dice).
2. Place 30 beanbags in the centre hoop.
3. Divide the class into four even groups and situate them by the four remaining hoops.
4. Tell chn they are fast running dinosaurs who need to collect eggs from the nest (the hoop of beanbags in the centre).
5. Only one child from the group can run at any one time.
6. They run to the centre hoop, grab an egg and return it to their hoop.
7. The game finishes when all the eggs are gone.
8. The group with the most eggs wins!
9. Return the eggs to the nest.
10. Repeat the game but this time when the chn hear the whistle (when the main nest is nearly empty) they can take eggs from any nest.
11. When the whistle blows again the game stops.
