Eucharistic Congress Collection: This will be taken at all Masses this weekend 5th / 6th May 2012, to help with the organization of the Eucharistic Congress from June 10th – 17th 2012.
Eucharistic Congress Bus to Dublin : A bus is organised for Tuesday June 12th (Family Day at the RDS) for Casteisland Pastoral Area. If interested please contact Castleisland Parish Office at 0667141241. Cost €40.00 including €10.00 for bus. Bus will leave from Castleisland Parish Church.
Trócaire: A reminder to bring your Trócaire money to the Church as soon as possible please, if you haven’t already done so, and put it in the basket as it goes around at the Offertory, or through the letter box in the Presbytery. It would be much appreciated if
people would count their Trócaire money at home and change the coins into notes

Parish Pastoral Council: The Parish Pastoral Council wish to update the “Welcome” / “Céad Mile Fáilte” brochure which is given to new parishioners. Any group or organisation who wish to have their details included should make contact with one of the members of the Council. People can also hand in such details to the Presbytery, or send them by e-mail to This should be done before the end of the coming week.
Eucharistic Procession: It is proposed to hold the Eucharistic Procession on the Feast of Corpus Christi after the Vigil Mass on Saturday evening, 9th June 2012. This Mass will be the final Mass of this year’s “Do This In Memory” programme. This is the eve of the Opening Day of the Eucharistic Congress in Dublin and the Munster S.F.C. semi-final between Kerry or Tipperary and Cork to be played in Cork. The Procession will go from St. Brendan’s Church, Clogher, to Clogher Cemetery as in previous years.
Training for Pastoral Leaders: The Diocese of Kerry will run a certified training programme for people involved in parish pastoral councils, liturgy groups, finance committees and safeguarding children committees. This course aims to nurture and deepen people’s faith, developing the confidence and competence of those involved in parish ministry and enabling them to make a greater contribution to the life of their parish and the Church. It will also equip parish leaders with the knowledge, skills and practice needed to be effective in parish ministry. The course will be run in two venues. John Paul11 Pastoral Centre, Killarney, and St. Brendan’s Pastoral Centre, Upper Rock St.Tralee. The course will be taught in each of the two venues over 20 nights, 10 nightsbefore Christmas 2012 and 10 nights in Spring 2013. The 50th International Eucharistic Congress 2012 (IEC2012) will take place in Dublin from 10th to 17th June 2012. Volunteers will have an integral role to play in the success of the Congress.

Seats in the Porches: The seats in the porches of both churches were put there a couple of years ago by the Parish Pastoral Council to accommodate parents with childrenwho might be noisy or a source of distraction for other Mass-goers. We would ask that those seats be reserved for such please.

Irish Office for Padre Pio: They are organising a pilgrimage to Italy from 25th May 2012until 1st June 2012 with flights out of Dublin to Naples and home again. The itinerary includes three nights in a hotel outside Benevento, where Padre Pio was ordained, and not far from his birthplace, Pietrelcina. The remaining four nights will be spent in a hotel in San Giovanni Rotondo where the saint spent most of his life and is buried.
