*VINYL CLUB will this Friday play the winning song based on a staff pick of ‘your favourite song based on a book or poem’ to celebrate Book Week Scotland. The results are tight with one song just ahead at this stage.

The album this week is ‘Definitely Maybe’ the first offering from Manchester band Oasis. Oasis were signed in Glasgow a short time before work on this record began. It references punk, glam rock, psychedelia and leans heavy on what went before but it is brilliant and arguably their best work. J-C Hamilton

The closing date to pay deposit for pupils wishing to take part in Bronze or Silver Duke of Edinburgh next year is Friday 1 December. Mrs Masterton
