Ms Hilliard’s* Discipline Procedures
Benefits Of Following Procedures:
●Lotto Cards: You can draw a card from the classroom “lottery” for snack days, listen to music days and bonus points on assignments
●Special Privileges: passing out papers, collecting assignments, running errands for the teacher.
To avoid getting a warning:
●Be respectful to teachers and students
●Bring necessary materials to class every day
●Follow Directions
●Take notes and complete assignments on time
●If you don’t understand the lesson, ask for help!
●If a problem should arise, write it down and ask teacher when we are working during class. (However, if it is severe , let me know immediately)
Warning System:
1. Verbal Warning
2. One minute conference in hall
3. Parent Contact /Teacher Detention
4. Office Referral
>Certain behaviors will result in immediate office referral per teacher discretion<
Behaviors that are not acceptable:
●Not finishing bathroom breaks during lunch/break time
●Disruptive Behavior
●Disrespect to Teacher
●Disrespect to other students
●Not following Directions
●Not having necessary materials in class (homework, chromebook charged, pencil, notes, binder/spiral etc.)
●Sleeping
●Off task behavior (not working on assignment)
●Constant Interruptions which interfere with teacher’s lesson
●Talking when teacher, or another student, is talking or during independent work
●Negative behavior (throwing or slamming supplies down, muttering)
●Asking Questions that are irrelevant to the classroom lesson
●Destruction of school property
●Complaining
●Other behaviors that have a negative effect on the learning environment
●Bathroom Breaks
Classroom Procedures:
** YOU MUST FINISH BATHROOM VISITS BEFORE ENTERING THE ROOM**
********NO BACKPACKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM*********
1. Be in your assigned seat when the bell rings
(or you will be counted tardy).
2. Make sure you have necessary supplies out (pencil/pen, paper,binder/spiral, charged Chromebook) Third period bring: Colored electrical or duck tape, Fourth period bring: Expo Markers, Fifth period bring: Construction Paper, Sixth period bring: Binder rings
3. Be prepared/Ready to participate
●Raise hands if you have questions/or to answer questions.
4. Take Notes
●Raise hands if you have questions.
5. Technology
●Ask Questions
●Get help from teacher-not other students
●Work quietly
●Use “Lotto Pass” to listen to music, with permission
6. Finished assignments
●You can do any of the following when you finish your work: study vocabulary, work on Quia or Quizlet, or DuoLingo-with permission- read a book, organize binder/spiral, make up work etc.

*NO Food allowed without a lotto ticket
*NO Cell Phone without a lotto ticket or teacher permission
