Suggestions:
“We have handed in our documents to register at the immigration office. We have to go back Sept 1st to receive our visa. It cost 535 pesos or $60 Cdn to register but there is also the cost of getting one of the documents typed on a typewriter, copies of everything, and the 8 photos in total that you need. There are places to do all of this is right around the corner from the immigration office and costs 75 pesos ($8.50) for the photos, 30 pesos ($3.50) for the typing, and 1 peso for each copy that you make. They speak very good English there and know the registration process very well.
It would be good to tell the outgoing students to bring a copy of their passport; I mean every single page of it, because there is always a line at immigration for the photocopier. Note: At Immigration no one speaks much English. Also Immigration is only open 9am to 1pm Mon-Fri. That's all I can think of right now. It is a very difficult process to try and figure out on your own so expect to have to return more than twice and get there early. Luckily, us 4 ran into a Calgarian there who explained everything to us.”
