Definitions / 3 / In this policy:
a.“V.I.P.” means very important person.
b.“FacultyMember” means recurring, limitedterm, and contingenttermacademic staff members within UCVM.
c.“Staff” means AUPE, MaPS, Non-Management and Research Staffemployees within UCVM.
d.“Students” means DVMStudents, GraduateStudentsand Post-Graduate Trainees.
e.“Visiting Lecturer” meansvisitor from other institutions.
f.“Volunteer” meansnon-University of Calgary employees.
g.“Bowie Box” means a vehicle equipped with portable veterinaryequipment that requiresanelectricalplugin.
h.“Roverpass” means aparkingpassthatisvalidat more thanonecampus site.
PolicyStatement 4 4.1FacultyMembers,Staff,andStudentsarenotexpectedtopayfordayparkingwhilevisitingothercampussitesiftheyalreadyhaveaparkingpassattheirprimaryofficelocation.

4.2FoothillsCampusFacultyMembersandStaffwhoholdaparkingpassforFoothillsCampuswillbeprovidedaSpyHillCampusparkingdaypassifrequiredtotraveltoSpyHillCampus.
4.3SpyHillFacultyMembersandStaffwhoholdaparkingpassforSpyhillCampuswillbeprovidedaFoothillsparkingdaypasswhenattheFoothillsCampus.
4.4FoothillsCampusorSpyHillCampusFacultyMembersorStaffwhoarerequiredtotraveltomaincampuswillbeprovidedamaincampusparkingdaypass.
4.5FacultyMembersmayobtainuptotwentySpyHillCampusparkingdaypassesforeasyuseiffrequenttripstoSpyHillCampusarerequired.TheymaybeobtainedintheDean’sOffice.Thesepassesarenottobediscardedpriortouseandarenottobesecondarilydistributedbythosewhohaveobtainedthem.
4.6FoothillsparkingpasseswillbeprovidedthroughtheDean’sOfficewhenrequired.FacultyMembersandStafffromSpyHillCampuswillonlybeprovidedwithLot6parkingpasses.
4.7Non-University ofCalgaryemployeeswhoarevisiting FoothillsCampuswillbeprovidedaFoothillsparkingdaypassifvisitingforUCVMrelatedbusiness.V.I.P.guestsmaybeprovidedaparkingpassforLot14(underTRW).
4.8UniversityofCalgaryadministratorsfrommaincampusvisitingtheFoothillsCampuswillnotbeprovidedaparkingdaypass.
4.9IfamaincampusofficehostsameetingatFoothillsCampusorSpyHillCampus,theymustprovideanyparkingpassesrequired(wecanprovideandinvoicebackifrequired).
4.10IfUCVMinvitesaFacultyMemberorStafffromanotherfacultytoUCVMto attend a function or participate inaUCVM activity, wewill provide a Lot6parkingpassiftheydonothaveaRoverPass.
4.11JointFacultyMembersorAdjunctFacultyMembersfrom anotherUniversityofCalgaryfacultywhoarehereforoccasionalparking(lessthansixtimesayear)maybeprovideddaypassesiftherespectivedepartmentheadnotifiestheUCVMDean’sOfficeattheFoothillsCampusorCSBatSpyhillCampus.AdjunctFacultyMembersorJointFacultyMemberswhowillbeparkingextensivelyatSpyHillCampusortheFoothillsCampusareaskedtopurchaseaRoverPass(whichisaboveandbeyondtheirregularpassonmaincampus).Ifappropriate,adepartmentmayreimbursethedifferencebetweenaRoverpassandaregularpassfromdepartmentfunds.Alternatively,departmentsmaypurchasedaypassesforusebyAdjunctFacultyMembersorJoinFacultyMembersiftheydeemitappropriate.
4.12GraduateStudentsareencouragedtopurchaseaMcMahon/SpyHillCampuscombinedparkingpassiftheyarerequiredtobeattheSpyHillCampussiteforsignificantamountsoftime.SpyHillCampusparkingdaypassesfor

occasionaluse(lessthantentimesayear)maybeprovidedwiththeapprovalofthesupervisorifagraduatestudenthasaFoothillsCampusparkingpass.
4.13IfResearchStaffdonothaveFoothillsCampusorSpyHillCampusparkingpass,aFacultyMembermaybuydaypassesforuseattheotherlocationifdesired.
4.14DayparkingpasseswillnotbeprovidedtoDVMStudentsastheyareexpectedtopurchaseaMcMahon/SpyHillCampuspass.
4.15VolunteerswhoareparticipatinginUCVMhostedevents(i.e.deliveringprograms,interviews)willbeprovidedanappropriatedayparkingpass
4.16VisitinglecturerswhoarebeingprovidedanhonorariumforparticipatingineventsandSessionalFacultyMemberswhoareequaltoorlessthanoneHCEwillbeprovided dayparkingpassesinLot6oratSpyHillCampus,asrequired.SessionalFacultyMemberswithappointmentsmorethanoneHCEareexpectedtopaytheirownparking.
4.17Visitorsattendingseminarsorotheractivitieswillnotnormallybeprovideda parking pass.
4.18ReservedparkingwithpowerwillonlybeprovidedatSpyHillCampusforFacultyMemberswhohaveaBowieBoxwithperishableproductsinthem.
4.19UniversitylabeledvehiclesmayparkinanyapprovedlocationatSpyHillCampusandinparkinglabeledUniversityofCalgaryvehiclesonlyatFoothillsCampus(besideLot6andLot8A).
