We Scare Hunger

Ms. Wilke's grade 7 class and Mrs. Swiatecki's grade 2 class have teamed up this year to "Make a Difference”. Our first initiative was the “We Scare Hunger” campaign to collect food for the food bank. In October, students decorated posters and collection boxes to raise awareness. Students collected non-perishable food items for 2 weeks, with the final day of collecting occurring on Halloween! At the beginning of October, we put all of our food together. Students went above and beyond by collecting 377.5 pounds of food. WAY TO GO GRADE SEVEN AND GRADE TWO! Ms. Wilke brought the food to We Day celebrations last week. We Day is a celebration for students who strive to make a difference in the world.

Junior A Girls Volleyball

The Junior Girls A Volleyball Team consisted of 14 grade 9 girls. They worked hard all season with improvements being seen at each game. In September, the girls played at a tournament in Hepburn and placed 4th. In October, they traveled to Warman to participate in a 12 team tournament. They played well and earned a place in the top 8. Playoffs arrived at the end of October. The girls travelled to Hanley to compete against Hanley and Valley Manor. They advanced from this first round by communicating, focusing on their serves, and going to the ball. Conference finals were hosted at Clavet against Warman. The girls played two close, well-fought games but were unable to come up with the win. Great season, ladies!!!
