Eagle Project

The last rank a Boy Scout works on is Eagle. This is the pinnacle of achievement for a boy in gaining a tremendous amount of skills with the completion of his rank. The requirements of Eagle Rank are:

  1. Hold a leadership position for 6 month as a Life Scout
  2. Earn a total of 21 Merit Badges including the following

Citizenship in the Community

Citizenship in the Nation

Citizenship in the World

Communications

Safety

Emergency Preparedness

Environmental Science

Personal Management

Personal Fitness or Swimming or Camping

  1. Complete a service project

The Service Project consist of the following activities:

-Present a plan to the Eagle Board for approval.

-Establish a work plan

-Organize the project consisting of funds, work force, material, tools, work schedule.

-Manage the work crew on the days of work

-When complete organize a manual on the project to the level that someone else could do the same thing, listing material, cost, time, etc.

Present your completed project to the Eagle Board

Bayer, Kevin James - Troop 182 St Peters Lutheran Church Elgin

Kevin Project built a 7 foot picnic tables for the Elgin Primary School and the Elgin Elementary School. Then he painted the tales and put their school emblem on them Total hours 87.

Cutshall, Brandon Zachary - Troop 182 St Peters Lutheran ChurchElgin

Brandon’s project was purchase benches and trash cans to be installed on Main Street in the city of Elgin. He organized a rummage sale to raise money for the material needed. Total Hours 160 hours

Norment, James Arthur - Troop 182 St Peters Lutheran ChurchElgin

James’ project was to restore the Mary Christian Burleson Cemetery. He cleaned the brush, weeds, and small trees, installed a new gate and then added a sign to identify the cemetery. 149 hours

Sanderfur, Charles K - Troop 182 - St Peter’s Lutheran Church - Elgin

Charles project was to sand prime and paint a metal rail in the second parking lot of St Peter’s Lutheran Church. Total hours 49 hours

Goodrich, Grant David - Troop 182 - St Peter’s Lutheran Church - Elgin

David’s project was to purchase and install a bench in downtown Elgin in memory of Robert Meadows who had served the troop for 23 years. Total Hours 99

Norment, Aaron Robert - Troop 182 - St Peter’s Lutheran Church - Elgin

Aaron’s project was to remove, repair, and replace the sandboxes at the Elgin Primary School in Elgin. Total Hours 71

Jon’s project consisted of constructing a nature trail through a wooded area at the Down Home Ranch in Elgin. Total Hours: 116
