Ø Is there before and after school care provided?
No. There is no before and after school care provided for students. It is the parents' responsibility to arrange for drop off and pick up at the appropriate times if your child is not involved in a school activity. There is no waiting area for students. There are two daycare centres nearby that provide pick-up service. They are Glenroy and The Salvation Army.
Ø Are there any suggestions on how I should prepare my child for the workshop in order for him/her to be a successful applicant? Are there any specific study materials or criteria set for this workshop?
As part of the process, we are looking at the learning skills of each applicant within a team challenge. Process over product is important within a short timeframe. Reviewing positive team skills would be beneficial. The mathematics problem is focused on the grade equivalent curriculum and we are assessing the problem-solving process as well as the written explanation. The applicant, additionally, will be presented with a written problem in which we will assess a creative solution to the problem, as well as clear, concise written expression.
