Name: ______

Every three weeks, students will be given a set of vocabulary words that are content specific or grade appropriate. In class students will be participating in word study activities using these words. On those days, students will be asked to complete a homework assignment that will help to reinforce what was learned that day. Sometime after lesson 5 (at the end of the two week mark) students will be given an assessment that will require them to use the words appropriately in a story. The rubric that will be used to assess the students understanding of the vocabulary words can be found in their word work notebook. Their assigned words can also be found in their notebook. Our first list of words will be titled Word Work Vocabulary List A. Approximately two weeks later the new words will be found under the title Word Work Vocabulary List B….
