LAS REGLAS PARA LAS NOTICIAS FORMALES E INFORMALES
Noticias Formales (20 points)
- Students will present noticias formales every Thursday.
- The student leader must have four pieces of news, two of which must be from a Spanish speaking country, one should be international and one piece of news should be from the U.S. (16 points)
- The student leader must submit a written copy of the formal news. The news must be written entirely in Spanishin your own words utilizing vocabulary and grammar that the class should already know. If you must use new vocabulary, you will need to teach the word(s) to the class (put them on the board).
- If you will not be in attendance on your designated day, you must exchange days with a classmate or present on the Thursday of the same week.
- The student leader must present all four pieces of the news.
- Students may ask questions of the student leader for clarification or additional information.
- The student will give a four question oral quiz pertaining to the news.(4 pts)
Noticias Informales (1 point)
- Any student may submit any piece of news on any Friday. It is worth 1 point of extra credit.
- If the news elicits discussion, the student will earn 2 points of extra credit.
Assessment ofNoticias
- Please refer to the Noticias rubric for detailed instructions.
- If the news is in your own words and the students were able to understand it and it was practiced(not stumbling over words and making it too long) you will most likely earn the 16 points.
NOTICIAS RUBRIC
Comprehensibility
4. News was easy to understand. It was complete and contained a beginning,
middle and end.
3. News was fairly easy to follow but there were a few rough spots
causing confusion. There was some hesitation and groping for
words.
2. News was difficult to follow. Speech was very choppy.
Vocabulary
4. Good details and vocabulary used appropriately. New vocabulary
was taught to classmates.
3. You used the vocabulary accurately but did not define new words.
2. The story lacked necessary words or some words were misused.
Correctness of language
4. Good pronunciation with mostly correct grammar. Language
flowed smoothly.
3. Mostly correct but had some difficulty with pronunciation and
grammar.
2. Pronunciation was not practiced with significant errors in usage
or grammar.
Risk taking and/or signs of improvement
4. The news was interesting and told with expression. Some humor
was used and the presentation was entirely in Spanish.
3. The news was told with some vocal expression and creativity.
Classmates found the news to be somewhat interesting.
2. News was told with no expression and some English was utilized.
Students did not find the news interesting.
