Role Summary
Assistant team leader on Everton in the Community’s National Citizen Service (NCS) programme which runs across Liverpool.Key Responsibilities
§ To assist the team leader to lead a team of 15 young people for Summer during all phases of the NCS programme.§ Encourage the team of 15 young people to work towards their goals on each phase of the NCS programme.
§ Organise and deliver reflection sessions for your cohort of young people during each phase of the programme.
§ Assist the programme Manager to arrange and deliver pre programme keep warm activities.
§ Ensure all young people’s expenses are submitted to the programme Manager on time.
§ Organise and implement a minimum of 4 “keep warm” days for the young people to begin to begin to build good working relationships. These keep warm days can consist of ice breakers. Getting to know other communities and how they differ or are similar.
§ Work with the programme manager to ensure that each young person in your cohort has returned medical information ready for the beginning of their programme.
§ Support young people in building and implementing a successful social action project in the local community.
§ Report any safeguarding or health & safety concerns to the programme manager.
§ Complete and submit all accident report forms to the NCS manager on the same day of the incident.
§ Encourage your cohort to continue with their social action project after they graduate from the programme.
§ Attend the NCS Graduation rewarding your team with their graduation certificates.

§ Take responsibility for personal performance and the development of personal skills to ensure the required skills, knowledge and competence to fulfil the role.
§ Encourage and promote the values of Everton Football Club and to comply with the required standards of conduct and so promote the Club within the community by acting with integrity and honesty.
§ Promote, adhere to and implement the Clubs Equality and Diversity Policy and to work consistently to embed equality and diversity within Club.
§ Ensure that all work is completed in a priority basis, and work meets a high degree of professionalism, quality and craftsmanship.
§ To attend staff meetings as required.
§ To attend training courses and external seminars and meetings as appropriate/required.
§ To be aware of current trends and best practice in your field of specialism.
§ To continually look for ways to develop and improve the service provision of the department.

§ Ability to gain the trust of young people in order to motivate them to achieve / § Able to work with young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
§ Willing to mentor young people into responsible individuals
§ Confident in signposting young people to volunteering opportunities

Knowledge & Experience
Essential / Desirable
§ Knowledge of and a sound appreciation of confidentiality and maintaining boundaries when working with young people
§ Experience of working within a multi-themed team and/or department
§ A good knowledge and awareness of young people’s lifestyle and trends
§ Experience of organising and implementing activities and/or interventions for young people
§ Coaching experience within a sports and/or community club is highly desirable / § Experience of working in a community organisation and/or voluntary support groups
§ Experience of working with key partners who have the best interests of young people at heart
§ An understanding of the National Citizen Service in general
§ Experience of volunteering
§ Knowledge of legislation, current issues and developments within schools and colleges
§ A track record planning, organising and overseeing youth led initiatives
§ An understanding of the personal, educational and social development of young people, post 16
§ Knowledge of leading and/or assisting on residential outings with emphasis on health and safety and risk assessment
