NORTH HANOVER TOWNSHIP UPPER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES
NOVEMBER 16, 2016 @ 6:30PM
The Meeting of the North Hanover Township Upper Elementary School was held in the Media Center of the Upper Elementary School at 351 Monmouth Road in North Hanover Township.
The following people were present:

A. The Meeting was called to order at 6:32 PM by Renee Fajgier Kucowski.
B. Treasurer’s Report. Carolyn Gripp was unable to attend but indicated the checking account balance is $4,000.00 after paying for the playground equipment and receiving partial payment for Color Run. We are awaiting the balance of the Color Run proceeds.
C. Principal’s Report. Mr. Alvarez indicated the students and staff are very excited about the new online Spirit Shop which is open until November 23, 2016. There was a discussion about the possible change of the Play date in March but no new dates have been selected.
D. Color Run Fundraiser. Renee indicated the PTO raised just over $4000.00 on this event. A portion of these proceeds will be used to purchase T-Shirts for all students and staff so we can begin Spirit Week celebrations at UES.
E. Holiday Cheer. The dates have been set: Food Collection November 1 – 30; Food Transported to CB Lamb December 1 & 2; Food Sorting by 4th graders at CB Lamb December 5-9; Food Baskets Assembled at CB Lamb December 12 and last but not least Food Basket Delivery December 14. Volunteers will be needed the evenings of December 12 & 14. A Signup Genius has been posted and is filling up quickly.
F. Holiday Shoppe. The dates are set for this event. Setup the evening of December 12; Shopping December 13 (9AM-1PM), December 14 (9AM-1PM) and December 15 (9AM -11AM). A Signup Genius will also be set up and posted for this event.
G. UES School Play. It was discussed and decided that the PTO will be happy to give back their 2015 Kiss the Cast profits to support the play production for out-of-pocket expenses to a maximum donation of $300.00. The proceeds can be used as the Play’s Producers see fit but the PTO asks for all receipts and we will write one reimbursement check. The idea was discussed to include advertisements in the Play Bill along with a Patron List. It was mentioned that if this idea becomes a reality, Ms. Carper-Brown will need help with the planning and production of the Play Bill.
H. School Spirit Shop. Megan Thompson’s (School Psychologist) idea of a Spirit Shop has become a reality. Shopping online only through November 23, 2015. The products available online are not the same T-Shirt the PTO is purchasing for the entire student body. The Spirit Shop will open again during the Spring of 2017.
