JOB SPECIFICATION

Job Title:- Apprentice Field Engineer

Reports to:- Regional Manager – Field Services

Purpose of job:- To perform at UK locations the installation,

commissioning, modification, repair and maintenance of electrical distribution equipment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:-

1. Perform the following activities (at UK and offshore locations) on LV & MV switchgear and related equipment.

- Off-loading

- Assist with Commissioning

- Modifications/refurbishment

- Repair

- Maintenance

- Factory assembly

2. Perform site risk assessments and assist in producing method statements.

3. Assist in the production of on site test results and sitework reports.

4. Contribute to the formulation of offers for site activities.

5. Participate in necessary schemes to provide cover outside of normal working hours.

6. Promote the Company’s service activities, identify and pursue business opportunities.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

General Background and Experience

The holder of this job will:-

· Have an understanding of Electrical Engineering Industry and show an interest in the industry, demonstrated by previous work, coursework or assignments done in school & or College.

Personal Attributes

The holder of this job will:-

· Be self-motivated and resourceful, flexible with respect to changing tasks and available at the times required to perform them

· Be customer/results focused and demonstrate a ‘service’ disposition

· Be willing to work at nuclear, military and offshore locations

· Be willing to learn similar disciplines on related distribution equipment

Skills and Qualifications

The holder of this job will:-

· Beneficial to hold a full driving license and passport

· Possess good written and verbal communication skills

· Have good inter-personal skills

· Demonstrate appropriate underpinning knowledge in maths, science & English.
