POST: Assistant/Trainee Facilities Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO:The Principal, under the day-to-day management and leadership of the Facilities Manager
SALARY:Grade 5 Point 23-25 £21,951 - £23,277pa to include outer London Allowance
LOCATION:Oasis Academy, Coulsdon
WORKING PATTERN:52 Weeks a Year, 25 days holiday + 8 days Public Holidays
37 hours a week. Hours 11.30am - 7.30pm. 30 mins lunch.

JOB PURPOSE:To assist in providing safe access and security for the Academy site.
Undertake basic maintenance and inspection of the site and equipment.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
AGENERAL
1 Assist in providing safe and secure access to allocated site areas
2Undertake inspection to ensure facilities are fit for use by the school and community
3Ensure that allocated buildings and site facilities are secured
4Set out furniture, materials and equipment as required and store after use.
5Check and maintain equipment as agreed
6Undertake security and site inspections to identify any potential health and safety issues. Respond to any concerns.
7Monitor, inspect and check site facility services e.g. heating, water, electricity, gas telecommunications and security to identify and highlight any areas of concern.
8Undertake emergency cleaning and basic maintenance to make safe, repair or maintain the fabric of the building, facilities or equipment.
9Assist in the management of site security equipment to ensure the site is continuously monitored and records maintained.
10To provide and maintain high standards in cleanliness and appearance of the site.
11Assist in the maintenance of good student discipline.
12Help to ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils, staff and visitors.
BSupervision/Management of people
1The post holder will have direct supervisory responsibility for the cleaning operation which will include,
Health & Safety, inductions, training and overseeing stock control.
2In the absence of the Facilities Manager, take full responsibility of the site.
3Monitor and oversee outside contractors with Facilities Manager
CResources
1Key holder responsibility which may be shared with other staff.
DKnowledge and Skills
1 Good understanding of working methods, and security issues for a full range of site services
2Good understanding of the issues associated with Health and Safety and site security
3Basic building and grounds maintenance skills and the ability to undertake routine maintenance and
repair or make safe in an emergency.
4Understanding of order processing and stockholding procedures.
5Ability to maintain appropriate records
6Awareness of the learning activities undertaken and the ethos of the Academy.
7Ability to use tact and demonstrate empathy and understanding with a range of site visitors, pupils
facility users and staff.
FOther Duties
1To participate in the life of the Academy
2Other duties as can be reasonably expected by the Principal
3Part of your Development you will be required to manage any project to specification and budget.

Outline Terms and Conditions
Assistant/Trainee Facilities Manager
Salary
Annual salary to be £21,951 - £23,277pa depending on experience includes Outer London Weighting allowance.
Payment is made monthly, in arrears, and on the 30th of the month or, if falling on a weekend or public holiday, the preceding Friday.
Pension
Oasis Community Learning employees are eligible to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. Current employee contribution to the scheme is 6.5% of gross pay (before deductions).
Hours
Full time 37 hours per week x 52 weeks per annum
Additional hours may be available paid at an overtime rate
Contract
The Site Assistant will be employed by Oasis Community Learning (Registered Charity No.1109288). A full contract will be provided at the start of employment. You will be seconded to Kier for the day to day management but your Terms and Conditions will remain with Oasis.
Probation period
Continuation of employment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a six month probationary period, during which time limited employment terms will apply (these will be detailed in the contract of employment but can also be provided upon request).
Paid Leave
25 days, plus statutory public holidays, per annum, rising to 30 days per annum after two completed annual leave years (September to August).
Child Protection
All Oasis Community Learning employees are required to provide an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure and to abide by the organisation’s Child Protection Policy and procedures.
