Job Summary:

The Document Control Specialist controls, maintains, and issues the Company’s controlled documents according to regulatory, customer and company requirements. This role updates and maintains Quality documents throughout the plant and ensures compliance with AS9100, NADCAP and other regulatory and customer requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect, issue, distribute, and control the files (drawings, specifications, manufacturing plans, procedures, work instructions, etc.) necessary to define product configuration, engineering / quality requirements and control manufacturing processes.
  • Control the editing, approvaland distribution of revised documents and ensure that documents are reviewed and approved in a timely manner
  • Maintain a master index or database for all controlled documents
  • Maintain controlled hard copies of required documents throughout all departments of the Company as required
  • Manage obsolete documents to ensure that outdated or unnecessary documents are properly archived in accordance with the Company’s records retention schedules
  • Train employees on records management procedures and policies
  • Manage controlled stamps throughout the facility
  • Coordinate, prepare and schedule the MPP Management Review meetings and follow through the action items from these meetings
  • Support and perform internal quality system audits to evaluate the QMS for compliance with applicable regulations and standards
  • Assist with regulatory and internal audit preparation and audits as required
  • Assist with MPP’s employee job training program as required
  • Assist with the Corrective and Preventive Action process at MPP and lead effective Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations as required
  • Completes these and other job duties as instructed.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • High School diploma (GED)
  • 1 to 2 years of document control, quality systems or similar experience
  • Working knowledge of English usage, including grammar, punctuation, and formatting of business documents.
  • Moderate typing and word processing skills using basic office equipment (printer, scanner, copier, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency including Office, Word and Excel (experience with PowerPoint and Accessispreferred)
  • Read, write, speak English
  • Legal authorization to work in the US

Desired Characteristics:

  • Familiar with AS9100, NADCAP, and other accreditation systems
  • Experience with ERP systems (MAPICS or XA preferred)
  • Auditing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate across departments
  • Outstanding attention to detail and excellent organization skills
  • Dependable and trustworthy and able to retain confidential information
  • Self-directed, independent, and highly-motivated
  • Able to function in a team environment by establishing cooperative working relationships with peers and co-workers.

Work Environment:

  • May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels).
  • Safety training and equipment are provided by MPP in accordance with applicable law, industry standards and company policy.
