Presider:Christ alone is the Lord, the Lord of our community. Mary, the Mother of the Lord is our special patroness. My sisters and brothers, trust that the Holy Spirit will overshadow you and help you to continually say “yes” to Christ. Is it your intention the to entrust yourselves to Mary and to seek her maternal assistance in fulfilling your commitment?

Brothers and sisters: It is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats takes away sins. For this reason, when Christ came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; in holocausts and sin offerings you took no delight. Then I said,’ As is written of me in the scroll, behold, I come to do your will O God,’ “First he says,” Sacrifices and offerings, holocausts and sin offerings, you neither desired nor delighted in.” These are offered according to the law. Then he says, “Behold, I come to do your will.” He takes away the first to establish the second. By this “will,” we have been consecrated through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Ceremony of Commitment
Presider:This day is an occasion for great joy and celebration. Christ the Lord has invited many among us to publicly make or renew their commitments in the CLC Way of Life. We rejoice that the Holy Spirit has prompted our brothers and sisters to recognize and respond to this invitation of Christ.

As far as can judge, these friends in the Lord have responded to the call of Christ. They have completed the requirements expected of new members. They have expressed their intention to live the way of life of the Christian Life Community and become active members of our community.
Presider:What then is your request in their behalf?
Coordinator:That they be permitted to offer an “Act of Commitment”. I request you to inquire of the new members their intentions.
Presider:Is it your intention to freely offer yourselves as a gift to God, trying ever more generously to live the fullness of your Christian vocation in the world?
Candidates:Yes, it is.
