Current Situation:
I am currently comfortably retired and have been since April of this year. I also retired from the U.S. Army Reserves in December 1996.
I would like a part time position. That part time income would provide a comfortable cushion to my retirement income. With that additional income I could pursue research in genealogy and for some articles I am already working on for some military history magazines.
I read a Wall Street Journal article years ago about being a mystery shopper and have actually been on the receiving end of a mystery shopper. I was very impressed with the Wall Street Journal article and would like very much to be considered for one of the part time mystery shopper positions.

Senior Programmer Analyst; Transamerica Corporation, December 1997 - May 2000; Dallas, Texas
· As a new hire was solely responsible for 24/7 support of a virtually untested new production financial system. Extensive use of IBM Mainframe OS/390, Cobol II and DB2. Developed some innovative production interrupt problem solving techniques using COBOL II, DB2 and other mainframe utilities.
· I was responsible for coordinating 24/7 coverage of the Loan Processing system. I was always the secondary and usually the primary on call for nightly emergencies. I also made sure that the problem causing the emergency was properly coordinated for the next processing cycle.
MIS Consultant; Electronic Data Systems; May 1997 - December 1997; Plano, Texas
· Responsible for upgrading and writing new jobs for the EDS corporate payroll system. New programs were written in COBOL II, DB2, OS/390.
Programmer Analyst; Lone Star Gas Company; August 1989 - May 1997; Dallas, Texas
· As a new hire became the lead analyst in completing the installation of a troubled gas tracking system. A successful implementation required much further testing and the design and programming of several front-end edit programs. I also designed a five-screen CICS system for data entry and modification. This was a very successful system, having only two production interrupts in the next six years. One was a page counter overflow that abended the PL/I program and the other one was a quickly solved user error. This was a PL/I-CICS-COBOL-VSAM-IDMS system.
· Lead programmer for a four-person company-wide production support center. We were also responsible primarily for making sure the nightly production runs completed in a timely manner for next day data input. Additional duties included minor upgrades to existing systems and for resolution of reported non-critical production problems. This was a very successful project. Required knowledge included OS/MVS, PL/I, COBOL, VSAM, IDMS and very good problem solving abilities. I worked on one FORTRAN program interrupt; the DO loop needed expanding.
· This was a fun, successful project and it was enjoyed immensely by all involved.

3. Project leader for the designing and programming of a MVS\COBOL\IMS Medicare Third Party Liability system for the State of Illinois.
4. Did a lot of CICS programming at for Clark Equipment Credit Corporation, Buchanan, Michigan. I was the CICS expert there and did a lot of really neat and maintainable CICS programming.
