Position Title: Public Safety Officer – Part time

Position Status: Hourly ($11.00 per hr)
Job Classification: Non-exempt
In compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is classified as a non-exempt position and the employee is eligible for overtime.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Maintains security and ensures safety of people and property within the facility. Enforces the rules and regulations as set forth by the organization. Communicates with staff on a regular basis, and performs other duties as assigned and works as a team player at all times.
Saturday & Sunday – 8:00 am. – 4:00 p.m. generally, with flexibility to work other shifts
PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER’S MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 21 years of age or older and a United States citizen
Must have a high school diploma or GED, or at least 10 years of verifiable employment history
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in the English language for the purpose of public interaction and report writing
Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality
Neat and professional appearance
Friendly and professional demeanor
Ability to handle typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively at facility
Must poses the highest level of integrity
Must be able to walk and stay on feet for shift duration
PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICE’S PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
One year experience in police or security field; or, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved, to include the military
Experience in a social welfare environment or non-profit
Experience/training in self-defense
