THE EXISTING FIRE ALARM CONTROL SHALL REMAIN AND SHALL BE MODIFIED AND/OR EXPANDED TO ACCOMMODATE EACH NEW DEVICE. ALL CONDUCTORS SHALL BE NEW. ALL EXISTING CONDUCTORS AND CABLES SHALL BE REMOVED FOR ALL RENOVATED AREAS. ALL DEVICES IN RENOVATED AREAS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE EXISTING BOOSTER POWER SUPPLIES. REMOVE CIRCUITS BACK TO ACTIVE EXISTING DEVICES TO REMAIN AS REQUIRED. REMOVE ALL UNUSED CONDUIT.
ALL FIRE ALARM VISUAL NOTIFICATION DEVICES (STROBES) SHALL BE SYNCHRONIZED THROUGHOUT THE FACILITY IN RENOVATED AREAS. (NETWORK SYNCHRONIZATION).

COORDINATE EXACT LOCATION AND QUANTITY OF FLOW AND TAMPER SWITCHES WITH FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR IN FIELD. PROVIDE A MINIMUM OF ONE FLOW AND TWO TAMPER SWITCHES FOR EACH FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM RISER, ALSO PROVIDE MINIMUM OF TWO TAMPER SWITCHES FOR THE FIRE PROTECTION BACK FLOW PREVENTER. LOCATIONS SHOWN OF THE FIRE ALARM BOOSTER POWER SUPPLY PANELS ARE SHOWN DIAGRAMMATICALLY FOR PURPOSE OF DESIGN. FINAL LOCATION AND QUANTITY IS TO BE DETERMINED BY FIRE ALARM SYSTEM SUPPLIER DURING SHOP DRAWING STAGE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. THE FIRE ALARM SHOP DRAWINGS SHALL INDICATE THE FINAL QUANTITY AND LOCATION OF BOOSTER POWER SUPPLY PANELS.
FIRE ALARM RELAYS SHALL BE PROVIDED WHERE INDICATED FOR HVAC UNIT FAN SHUTDOWN BY THE BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEM (BAS) UPON DETECTION OF SMOKE OF THE SERVING AIR HANDLER OR IN A FIRE ALARM GENERAL BUILDING EVACUATION ALARM.
THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM SHALL FULLY COMMUNICATE WITH THE BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEM (BAS) USING THE PROPER PROTOCOL.
PROVIDE MONITORING OF THE AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH OF THE STANDBY GENERATOR SYSTEMS FOR BOTH NORMAL AND EMERGENCY POWER SOURCES.
THE FIRE ALARM DESIGNER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SELECTING THE CANDELA RATING OF EACH STROBE REQUIRED FOR EACH APPLICATION TO OBTAIN PROPER COVERAGE AND TO MEET MINIMUM CODE REQUIREMENTS.
THE COMPLETE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM SHALL COMPLY WITH THE OBC, NFPA, ADA STANDARDS, NEC AND ALL OTHER APPLICABLE CODES; COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION.
