  • Understanding of Female High Performance and Pathways

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Preparation, Training, and Playing

A)Head Coach of Northern Spirit

  • Work with support staff to design, coordinate and implement pre-season and in season conditioning and skill practice sessions for players in the Spirit squad
  • Development of a team culture that promotes unity and commitment to performance on and off the field.
  • Conduct pre-game, during-game and post-game analysis with the team.
  • Develop playing strategies that promote excellence, success and are built around player capability
  • Utilisie ND High Performance staff to help develop an appropriate player development plan
  • Plan and deliver 1:1 and small group coaching sessions to players

B)Female Pathways Manager

  • Review current female cricket pathways across Northern Districts
  • Develop pathway programs for talented cricketers at U15, U18 and U21 level
  • Implement training and playing opportunities for all talented cricketers within the age group squads
  • Manage identified players Individual Performance Programs (IPP’s) – ensuring these are living documents and have periodical assessments
  • Work with District Associations to identify and promote female cricket and the female cricket pathway
  • Identify and manage the female component of the network coach program and identify suitable coaches to work within the program
  • Line manage the coaches and team managers of the youthsquads at U15, U18 and U21 age groups
  • Attend age group training, matches and tournaments where appropriate
  • Organise and deliver the Northern Premier League
  • Attend all Northern Premier League fixtures

Relationships

  • Establish strong working relationships with Director of High Performance, key ND High Performance staff and the CEO.
  • Establish strong working relationships with the Spirit management staff, selection panel and Spirit leadership group, with clear role definitions.
  • Work with Spirit management and playing group to establish team protocols and hold all to account.
  • In coordination with the Director of High Performance and the Spirit selection panel, clearly define selection policies and protocols.
  • Engage the playing group in decision making, delegate tasks and assign responsibilities accordingly.
  • Foster positive relationships with administrators, supporters, sponsors and District Associations
  • Work with Individual players and their support networks to ensure optimal preparation
  • Work with players in the youth squads to develop their cricket and life skills

Reporting

  • Provide reports to the ND Cricket Board as required by the CEO.
  • Provide reports to the NZ High Performance Manager (or other NZC personnel) as required by NZC.
  • Provide an end of season report to ND Cricket Board.
  • Provide end of season player reports as required by NZC and ND Cricket.

Other

  • Fulfill NZC coaching requirements as set out within the High Performance Service Level Agreement subject to approval from the Director of High Performance.
  • Assist in the development of High Performance coaches in Northern Districts.
  • Assist ND in growing the game through game development appearances, visits to District Associations, and being accessible to the media.
  • Be an active part of the ND administrative team.
