Graduating High School Seniors are invited to apply for the CMAA High School Senior Scholarship.

(1 application for any degree/1 for a students going into Visual/Performing Arts.) The CMAA Scholarship awards $2000 to deserving students who demonstrate higher education aspirations, through a competitive application process.

First Essay - Please handwrite an expository essay explaining the reason(s) for wanting to further your education and having selected your particular career goal/s.

PHOTO AUTHORIZATION AND RELEASE FORM

CMAA requests your permission to reproduce through printed, audio, visual or electronic means this activity in which your child has participated. By signing, you consent to allow CMAA the right to use photographs, audio and/or video with your child’s image for not-for-profit purposes.

A copy of a completed Financial Student Aid Report Form/or Personal Statement if unable to apply for FASFA, noting family yearly income.

  1. Hispanic descent, at least one parent.
  2. June 2013 graduate of a secondary school in LAUSD.
  3. Fall 2013 enrollment in a four-year college or university.
  4. 3.50 grade point average, minimum, on a 5.0 scale.
  1. AWARD AMOUNT

Scholarship awards will be in the sums of $1500 (Arts) or $2000.00 each. The winning recipients will be honored at a mandatory event to be held on

Thursday, April 25th at Tamayo’s Restaurant at 5:00 p.m.

Students are to turn-in the following:

A completed Scholarship Application Form (Front and Back)

Signed Photo Authorization and Release Form

(2) Essays – One handwritten and one typed (at least 1 full page each – double space, Times New Roman Font, 1 inch margin)

Transcripts - 7 semesters

Two letters of recommendation (Teacher, Administrator, or Counselor)

A copy of a completed Financial Student Aid Report Form/or a letter stating why you do not qualify.
