To win the “Best of Show” is incredible, and the funds will be put back into my practice and help fund new interactive works. I have met some amazing artists through visiting, establishing new connections and broadening my networks.”
In addition to the juried competition, a select group of artists were invited to project at Digital Graffiti. Andrew Demirjian of Palisades Park, New Jersey showed his work Helios Variations, created as part of the 2015 Digital Graffiti Artist Residency Program. Digital Graffiti veterans Sean Capone of Brooklyn, New York and Robert Seidel of Berlin, Germany also projected works, including Seidel’s piece “Advection”: immersive compositions that draw on biology and experimental film. The work was shown over Alys Beach’s Lake Marilyn on an installed water wall. Images can be found here.

“This year’s Digital Graffiti marks the event as world class. It has been global in scope since day one, but has grown with an overall artistic vision and technical mastery not seen before,” says Curator Brett Phares. “Next year is poised to be even stronger and soulful in impact. We are already cultivating brighter, more immersive and responsive work, highlighting and interacting with Alys Beachin curious and not so subtle ways.“
