Press Release

LivingKitchen 2017

Rare, medium or well-done? Ask your oven.

As part of the Mastery Range, AEG launches the SenseCook oven, an oven that works as your sous chef to take your cooking to the next level. As part of the AEG Mastery Range experience, the Food Sensor in the new oven works in smart combination with the Command Wheel, letting you order the food exactly as you would from a waiter at a restaurant, directly from the oven.

At LivingKitchen 2017, AEG presents the Mastery Range, a range of innovative kitchen appliances bringing the world’s first responsive kitchen experience to the market. The new range redefines the roles of the kitchen appliances in the cooking process with smart technology and responsive design to streamline the cooking process. Whether it’s a fennel casserole, a joint of beef or a salmon fillet – with the Food Sensor and Command Wheel, you can control the cooking and master the result without even opening the oven door.

“With the Food Sensor and Command Wheel, we wanted to give more control back to the chef, with greater ability for precision-cooking using smart technology and a flexible approach to personal taste”, says Niels Munksgaard, Head of Product Marketing, AEG in EMEA.

Accurate results for optimal taste experiences

Inside the oven, the Food Sensor can be inserted into the meat or dish you’re cooking to give accurate control over the core temperature and how well-done the food is, to suit your personal taste, every time. The precision of the Food Sensor is combined with a smart user interface featuring the Command Wheel; a responsive wheel letting you tell the oven what results you want, rather than what temperature you want. Whether it’s a simple casserole you want to slow-cook or an elaborate meat dish that needs more complex instructions – the Food Sensor and Command Wheel gives you the restaurant-like results you want, every time.

A new kind of design experience

As part of the AEG Mastery Range, the design of the SenseCook oven goes beyond sleek lines and aesthetics – the new kitchen concept is about streamlining the cooking experience.

“From extensive research and testing we found that consumers often feel they have to adapt to their kitchen appliances in their cooking process”, says Niels Munksgaard, Head of Product Marketing, AEG in EMEA. “The CommandWheel and Food Sensor are an innovation we are extremely proud to present, as we believe it will lead to better taste experiences and help people take their cooking results to the next level”, Niels Munksgaard adds.

The design of the oven will give every kitchen a design lift with its clean user interface and modern look.

“When you touch the Command Wheel, your current cooking settings appear immediately on the screen for at-a-glance monitoring of your meal, making adjustments exact and precise,” says Simon Bradford, VP Design at AEG. “Without other buttons creating a busy dashboard, the Command Wheel makes the UI simple and streamlined as it only shares info when you need it”, he adds.

Beside the AEG SenseCook, the AEG SteamCrisps reaches a new level. With an integrated steam system, oven dishes get extra delicate and juicy. Trough some Water on the bottom of the oven, the AEG SteamBake makes any bread and other pastries crunchy. Another innovative function is the AEG SteamPro, with its Sous Vide function and moisture sensor especially meat dishes work easily. And for extra intensive taste and on-point cooking: the AEG SteamBoost.
