Grading Policy

Marking period grades will be determined by a cumulative point system. Required work will not be accepted after three days lateness. Students will be provided with a tally sheet each marking period on which to record their grades. To calculate one’s grade, divide the total number of points possible into the total number of points that one has earned. The following grade scale will be used.

All numeric averages will be rounded to the nearest whole number.
Final grades for the year will be determined by averaging the cumulative percentage grade for all four marking periods and the final examination. The comprehensive final exam will count as 16% of the final grade. The final grading system will be as shown above.
Make-up Work is permitted for excused absences only. If you have an excused absence or tardy for only one day, you should be prepared to take or make-up a quiz or test on your first day back to school. If you have an excused absence of two or more days, see the teacher to receive missed assignments and reschedule tests. Generally, the time allocated for make-up work will equal the number of school days missed. If you must be absent five (5) or more consecutive school days, kindly contact your home office (HOOF) for assignments as soon as possible to allow time for the collection and gathering of materials. Please realize that any make-up tests or quizzes may be different from the test originally given. If your absence is unexcused (including class cuts), you will receive a zero for the missed assignment/test/quiz.
