STONEHAVEN WATCH GROUP PROGRAME
September 2009 – February 2010
Wednesday 16th September 6.30 – 8.00pm Meet The Ancestors (Ancient Technology Workshop)
Venue : Stonehaven Community Education Centre
Taking a look at human beings for a change we will explore some of the technology that people used hundreds and even thousands of years ago – drilling of wood and stone, writing and making flour with grinding stones. You’ll be able to try your hand at these activities and see how some of our ancestors (along with visiting Romans and Vikings, among others) coped without electricity !
Cost : £2 (to help cover cost of loaning equipment)
Saturday October 17th 1.30-3.30 pm Autumn Woods
Venue : Dunnottar Woods (Glasslaw Car Park)
With the changing coloured sparkly leaves and mysterious mushrooms of this delightful season in full swing its time to visit the woods and look at seeds, fungi, trees…. maybe make an autumn collage (depending on the weather) and check on those horse chestnut saplings we planted in Spring. Please dress for the weather. (Make sure you will be warm)
Wednesday 11th November 6.30 pm – 8.00 pm Looking Forward / Looking Back
Its time to look back at what the group have done and help put our annual report together whilst looking ahead to future activities. This is also a chance for you to say if there are topics you would like to see us covering (this can include repeats of favourite things you have done already)
