2012 fall season rule book
The East Shore Travel League will play by modified NFHS rules
We will use major league pitching rules
Game Time’s and innings
9u-12u; 6 innings & 1 hour 45 minutes time
13-18u; 7 innings & 2 hour time limit
No inning will start after the time has expired. The clock will start from the time of the first pitch. Once a inning starts it must be completed.
Umpires must be paid by each manager prior to start of game in cash or check prior to each game
Any team that forfeits a game without 24 hours of notice will be fined $110.00 and must be paid prior to the start of the next regular scheduled game or the umpires will not start that game
You are allowed3 coaches, and a score keeper in dugouts, no kids other than player’s period allowed in dugout. Only 1 coach outside the dugout during their defensive play
We are asking all teams to please keep the dugouts cleaned during games
There will be no outside food parties allowed during double headers or during games
All catchers must wear helmets during warm ups 9u-18u
No coaches are allowed to warm up pitchers during the inning changes this will be enforced by the umpires
Warm up pitches: each pitcher prior to the start of the game will be allowed 8 pitches, and from the second inning on 5 pitches per inning, unless the pitcher is changed
It is the coaches’ responsibility to police their own parents, if a parent or groups of parents are getting out of control than the umpire will stop the game and ask for the coaches to remove the parents and then play will continue. If the problem isn’t removed than the game will be forfeited and the game awarded to the opposing team.
All changes must be reported to the other coach during the game

9u & 10u minus 10 or 12 (2 5/8 barrel size)
11u & 12u minus 8, 10 or 12 (2 5/8 or 2 ¾ barrel size)
13u minus 10, 8 or 5
14u BBCOR Bats only
16u WOOD BAT ONLY
18u WOOD BAT ONLY
Protest Procedures
a. Protests must be made verbally with the umpire by the offended team at the time of the play and before the next pitch.
b. A fee of $100.00 cash (refunded if protest is upheld) must accompany the protest.
c. All decisions of the protest committee shall be final.
d. Only decisions involving the misinterpretation or misapplication of a rule may be protested. No protest shall be allowed in matters involving solely the umpire’s judgment.
Ejections (Manager, Coach or Players):
a. In all age groups, the first occurrence results in suspension for the rest of the game (removal from game site) in which ejection occurs, and for the next scheduled game.
b. The second occurrence is a three game suspension
c. The third occurrence is a ten game suspension
d. If all coaches listed on the team’s roster are ejected during a game; then the team must forfeit upon the removal of the last coach.
Speed up rule(rule change)
During the inning you can speed up for the catcher with two outs and the last batted out. Mandatory
Tied game(rule change)
In the event of a tied game and there’s still time on the clock we will start the top of the inning with the lastout of the previous inning on 2nd base with one out and play it out until a winner or no time left on the clock
Baseball’s(league change)
Each team must supply game balls prior to start of the game and during the game at all times
The league will not supply any baseballs during the fall season
You should use either a Rawlings or Diamond game ball, not a practice ball
