1970 - 1975: Eton College (Kings Scholar): A levels: English (A1), Latin (A2), Greek (A).
1976 - 1980: Trinity College, Cambridge (Open Scholarship in Classics, Senior Scholarship in English): MA Hons English 1979 (First in Part One, Two/One in Part Two). One year's postgraduate research on 20th century versions of Sophocles.
1983 - 1984: Barcelona University: Diploma de Estudios Hispanicos.
2001 - 2002: London School of Economics: MSc in Environmental Assessment and Evaluation (passed with distinction).
Teaching Career:
1979-1980 Undergraduate supervisor, Trinity College, Cambridge, teaching English Tripos Part 1.
1984 - 1986 Master, Eton College, teaching English A level, O level, University Entrance. Directed Journey's End, Death of a Salesman.
American University teaching in London:
1991-2003 (continuing): 12 years as Professor, London Stage, Independent Liberal Arts Colleges Abroad (ILACA), London; 1993-5: Professor, British Theatre, Elon College (North Carolina). Also taught for NCSA and Lewis and Clark College (Portland, Oregon).
