Provide the PBSIS Coach with a list of all the teachers/staff that work with the student and their email addresses
Send the F-BIT to all of the students’ teaches with instructions to complete
Collect the F-BIT from the teachers and send to the PBSIS contact
Summarize the F-BIT and put into the excel template
Have a summary of the office conduct referral history
Obtain records information
  • Number of visits to nurse/school counselor and dates

Interview the parent using the F-BIT Interview protocol
Interview the student using the F-BIT Student Interview Protocol (or Social Support Survey)
Coordinate the Initial Meeting
  • Send out the invitation / meeting information
  • Work with administrators and teachers to ensure coverage
  • Arrange meeting space

Organize Information for the Initial meeting
  • Review interview and F-BIT information
  • Summarize information collected into a preliminary behavior map
  • Bring copies for team members to review

Hold the Consensus Planning Meeting
  • Facilitate agreement on a definition of the target behavior and student strengths
  • Provide a summary of the preliminary behavior map
  • Map out an illustrative example using recent occurrence of behavior
  • Display the ‘behavior map’ using flip chart
  • Develop a plan to collect a baseline of the target behavior

Document a baseline
  • Develop a schedule with the teachers for documenting a baseline over a two week period
  • Summarize the baseline information

Plan for the Intervention Meeting
  • Finalize the behavior summary map
  • Develop a ‘function of behavior’ statement
  • Select of pool of intervention strategies to propose to teachers that address the key features of the student’s behavior map

Meeting preparation
  • Develop the behavior summary map and a proposed function statement to bring to the planning meeting
  • Prepare a list of proposed strategies / interventions to present at the planning meeting

  • Write up the behavior intervention action plan
  • Implement strategies during school routines

Progress monitoring
  • Collect progress monitoring data
  • Review progress monitoring data
  • Follow up on implementation fidelity with all teachers
