3.  Items covered

This note mainly describes the actions from the meeting. Presentations from the meeting are attached.

Following items were covered / discussed:

Item no. / Description / Responsible /
1 / Reference data activity – status
·  A group consisting of Sean Barker, Rob Bodington, Leif Gyllström, Atle Kvalheim,
Carolyn Cox (when RR hosts the net meeting) and Trine Hansen has arranged total 3 meetings since the OASIS conference call 13 July. The objective has been to establish procedures and guidelines for registration of reference data and also a set of reference data classes for the PLCS domain. On the latest net meeting two additional resources from Eurostep (Simon Dick and Brad Harris) attended to contribute with their experience from the UK MoD’s TRILS project.
·  Prioritising of the reference data activity.
From on-going pilots point of view reference data related to DEX 4, 8 and 9 are of high priority. Based on this we have agreed perform the activity according to following priority list:
a.  Identification
b.  Property
c.  Task and Activity
d.  Classes of Task and Activity
e.  Work orders and requests
2 / Reference data activity – plan forward
·  16 – 20 August the mentioned group has decided to arrange a reference data workshop with the main objective to finalise as much as possible of the reference data infrastructure and the user guidance.
·  The RDL will be rather meaningless without the input from the subject experts. Based on experience from the ISO 15926 RDL it is proposed to:
o  first establish a version of the infrastructure using the existing input from reference data activities in all DEX teams
o  and then involve the domain experts from all DEX teams to comment on it
·  Output from the workshop in August – to be commented by all DEX teams espesialle domain experts:
o  Reference data infrastructure
o  User guidance including procedures (includes also proposal on routines for the harmonisation process of reference data across DEXs)
·  The results from the workshop will be presented in a following net meeting.
Proposed date: Wednesday 25 August.
3 / Presentation of procedures and guidelines (draft versions)
Due to few participants the presentation was postponed to a later meeting.
4 / Presentation of the reference data library
Due to few participants the presentation was postponed to a later meeting.
5 / Review activities – status
It seems to be little energy in the review process.
ACTION on all to review and update the status columns in DEXLib.
ACTION to reply on Rob’s mail regarding status flags.
The Swedish pilot is allocated to some review activities. Funding for this works will probably be decided in a meeting early September.
The three Norwegian pilots are completed and there is no funding for review activities from the Norwegian side for the moment.
It is a question whether the on-going MoD pilot (WAS) will fund some review activities to complete DEX 4, 8 or 9.

Completion of DEXs for ballot
It is a concern whether the DEXs will be completed for ballot until October 2004. Following activities have to be completed before the ballot process starts:
·  Reference data has to be in place
·  The review process has to be completed and documented in check lists
·  Stand alone DEXs have to be established
Check lists
No progress since last meeting.
Leif and Trine have agreed on a workshop as soon as Leif is back from vacation. / Leif and Trine
